What have you done for me lately? UPDATE

Pitcherslastten_medium

So one of the nagging questions is who should/will make it into the postseason rotation?  The grid above (click on it for larger view) attempts to shed some light by displaying selected stats from the last ten starts for each Rockies hurler (sorted by WPA).  I conclude that anyone suggesting that Hammel be excluded should seek immediate medical attention, and that Jason Marquis should not be making any travel plans.

By the way, Cookie's post-DL starts have been sick (e.g., ERA = 0.69), but his nagging injuries negatively impacted the last ten overall.

UPDATE: Added numbers for Contreras' two starts and five relief appearances.  His composite numbers look a little shaky in spots, but his results are dynamite.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Have I mentioned I love our starters lately?

if you're reading this, it means my undying support for your team will result in its failure.

Hammel should be starting

There’s no doubt in my mind. As much as it would kill me for Jason Marquis to not be in the rotation after what he did for the team this year, Hammel has to be the 4th starter.
