playing time
Wouldn’t he look for a place where he’d get more than the weekly/bi-weekly 1B start and pinch-hitting?
Leave Dexter alone! You're lucky he even performs for you!
possibly, but that job may not be available

I don't think he wants to start any more than that.
So his only other option would be an AL team where he’d be the DH. But that might not even be available. He seems to me like the kind of guy who’s willing to accept any role if it means being on a team he enjoys.
Wha??
What reason do you have to believe that?

Huh?
He’s said that he never wanted to start as much as he did in Oakland. I think he knows at this point in his career that his role will be limited (and that he’s not physically capable of having a large role). So unless there’s some team out there that wants him as their DH, he’s probably going to want to be on a team where he enjoys his teammates.
I didn’t say anything negative. It was all meant to be positive.
In Okland...
he was put at 1 base all the time rather than the DH slot. He got tired because he was always out Offensively AND Defensively. I’m a bit surprise to hear this, because I figure he’ll just leave and get a DH spot in the AL. But then again thinking about this, if the Rockies decided to drop Atkins in the off season we are going to need someone to back up Helton once and awhile.
