Obviously the ump’s blew a couple of calls that didn’t matter at teh start of the game, but there’s nothing wrong with the K calling

The reason we’re losing this game is because Ubaldo has lost himself, not because of the umps
no they've been poor too
but this is a battle of aces, it’s going to be low scoring, Ubaldo has to be better than this
Rox do tend not to help themselves
but that doesn’t mitigate the fact that the umpiring is terrible.

meltdown, just didn’t see it coming (especially with his start). Sucking the wind out of my sails. Oh well, finish this one strong and then immediately forget it.
I can't say it was entirely Ubaldo meltdown.
Those balls to the outfield carried weird, couldn’t be read easily. Dexter missed it by 2 inches and caroms off the wall. CarGo crashes into the wall on a play that I think he typically easily makes.

It’s not like heart and pride will automatically score us runs or even get us on base.
I definitely overreacted...
and I agree that heart and pride isn’t even everything when it comes to results. And I do believe they were trying…I just want them not to give up when down in games and to still put together as quality AB’s as they can, even in dire circumstances like today’s game with Lee.

Nah just frustrated by the game in general...
and overreacting…I know we have heart and pride and that that isn’t even everything. I just don’t want us to quit at the end of games because we are down in the score or even facing someone like Cliff Lee. I just want us to have as quality AB’s that we can at the end of a game, even if the end result of the AB or the game is bad. The first pitch outs were really getting to me.

I guess I have different views of the term "produced"
I consider produced to be A) scored/rbi or B) wore out a pitcher to get to the bullpen, and then later allowing us to get more runs off of said bullpen.
Neither happened today. And I’m not saying he shouldn’t have started, it’s just that he didn’t do what I wanted him to, and neither did most of this team.
We had what, 4, 5 hits?
his went for extra bases, and he was competent at 3B. You can’t really ask for much more.

i still think he made a big boo boo not ph spilly for ubaldo to start the 6th. ubaldo leaves with a respectable 2 runs in 5 ip, he’s then better able to start in game 4 with a lower pitch count, you’re trailing by two runs, beimel’s already warmed for utley and howard. we probably still lose, but now we have ubaldo with 20 less pitches thrown

He gave no thought to removing Ubaldo before the 6th. He thought Ubaldo had the best stuff he’s seen in a month. Thought he would have been a bad message to Ubaldo to take him out at that point. And thought Lee pitched great. And that we didn’t square up the ball…
