I love Street

but his writing is a bit monotone. I don’t think I could read more than a couple of his entries.

I love that he brings water to his teammates during BP.

He keeps his boys hydrated!

Also, he takes requests. Awesome.

I noticed Street handing out water..

when I attended the Rockies game in Anaheim this summer. I thought it was a one-time thing. It’s pretty cool that he always does it. I wish I had a pic of it, here’s one after they had drunk their water and were getting ready to run— notice the bottles on the ground. That’s what I remember, Street leading the pitchers in running drills during BP. He seemed like a leader and they accepted him as such.

I didn't realize how much emphasis

is put on which side of the rubber the pitcher comes from. Interesting that he felt that since Stairs hadn’t seen him from the right side, he wasn’t the same pitcher and couldn’t get the same reads. I hadn’t heard pitchers talk about that before.

Street moving over to the right side

Was a BIG deal for him. It seems to have made him a much better pitcher. But even more than that, whatever gives you confidence is good to think about. If you are thinking “Man, this guy owns me” that will lead to disaster. Street seems to do a great job with the mental side of the game.

Does this mean...

Apodaca may be good?

This is partially sarcastic.

hahaha

I love Apodaca. I don’t know if you saw the Counting Rocks on him, but it pretty much praised Dac, touching mostly on improvements from past organizations.

I like Huston Street

But he should stick to pitching.
Great closer.
Bad writer.

Athletes’ thought processes don’t translate very well into writing. But to be fair, my writing doesn’t translate very well into athletic ability.

Good writing, like everything else, requires lots of practice.
Hopefully, he will improve over time.
He does, after all, provide some interesting insights.

I liked Street's blog..

at least it’s more up to date than Casey Weather’s blog— from May!! Or Rocky’s Magic Number— from July!! Or Sparks of Dementia— from July 2008 o_O
