From NY Baseball Digest:

Sources familiar with the situation told NYBD that Washington and Cleveland were vying for Grilli’s services. Although there is no official confirmation it appears that Cleveland has landed the veteran right hander. I believe this is because Grilli could become a very valuable component in the bullpen. Remember, the AL Central is far more winnable than the NL East. New media has arrived and we very well may have our first FA signing announced via a "tweet".

I still can't fathom why we dropped him...

He’s no Mariano Rivera, but c’mon, he’s a great clubhouse guy and he’s got to be at least a good bit above WAR for his role, no?

Agreed and agreed

Although he hadn’t been much of a pitcher before he joined us, and you can argue he was outperforming in any case and would likely regress. But I love following him on twitter – even his avatar makes me smile :)

ehhhhh he was ok

but…not that good I’m afraid to say.

He’s a personal favorite from meeting him in Toronto.

Hope got in my eyes
