Feliz Option Declined by Phils
Atkins was Utleys best man at his wedding or so I have heard. Best buds from college. I would be stunned if Atkins does not wind up with the Phils after he is non tendered.

call me crazy,
but I’d be on board if the Rockies decided to sign Feliz to take Atkins’ place on the roster. His glove is fantastic, he’s right handed and he’s had about 100 games at first meaning that he could sub for either Helton or Stewart. Plus he absolutely kills the Rockies (more HR against than any other opponent) and loves hitting at Coors Field, so it would be one less player to worry about beating us.

to suggest something on this order. Great idea. Do you think he would come for backup money though?

Probably not at first,
but he’d definitely be a guy to watch and wait for, as he may have to step down in his demands come late January/February. He’s averaged just over $4.5 million a season in salary the last three years, but it would seem to me that if somebody like Orlando Hudson can only get $3.38 million last year, Feliz can probably expect a considerable drop. If you could get him for around that $3 million mark, it would be a coup.
