Poll: From the offseason thread
I posted this in the offseason thread and was encouraged to create a separate fanpost with a poll. I'm curious about the breakdown on PR between students, professionals, working, non-working, retired, etc rowbots. I get the feeling a majority are students but I could be wrong, of course.
If you care to do so, you can elaborate in the comments, it's always interesting to hear what people do. (ie professional in what, student where majoring in what...you get the idea).
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

As for me...
I’m a student at Columbia University, majoring in dance. I was considering adding a concentration (a more intense version of the minor) in political science, specifically american politics and political theory, but that’s looking less likely at the moment.
Carlos Gonzalez is a sexy man
I studied
Music performance (percussion) in college..so naturally when I graduated I needed to do something else. Now I am the web mistress for one of the nations top fine art printing companies. I mostly manage their presence online, do web/social marketing and search engine optimization. I also have my own small business as a photographer.
the time between the season ending and spring training makes me feel dead inside.
I really enjoyed your photographs Maria..
I would like to ask you more about them, maybe I’ll send you an email?

Seems like a good combination. Dance and poly sci. Since most politicians dance around the issues :)

Just finished being a student
I just finished my second degree in Computer Information Systems a week ago from Metorpolitan State College of Denver (Metro State). I have another degree in History from CSU (Go Rams!). I could never get a job to pay the bills with that degree so had to go back to school. I now work in Boulder at a computer array company called LSI.

I guess
for the next few weeks I can still be considered a working student. But soon I’ll have an MA in history, and a number of things are lining up after that. Those history-themed pieces I’ve written this year are supposed to get into the hands of some important people in my field of study.

Working Professional
I have been an architectural consultant for 14 years working in Denver. Our firm specializes in the design of maintenance facilities, mainly for transit agencies and public works operations around North America.
Thanks for a great season of Baseball!
I'll be back next year for another ride.
I’m the sports director overseeing three radio stations in North Platte, Nebraska, including an ESPN Radio affiliate where I broadcast games for the local high school and community college. I guess that makes me a working professional, even though it’s hardly ‘work’ and I get to wear jeans and baseball caps around the office.

Professional
I’m a production editor for a publishing company, managing production of college textbooks in the humanities, social sciences, and languages disciplines.
Retired
I’m retired and live in Asheville, NC where I enjoy watching nearly all the prospects pass through on their way up the ladder. We see all the T’s home games and 15 to 25 road games a year.
This is sweet
and what I want to do eventually. Sounds like fun. You should post more in the pebble reports about these games you attend and let us know what you see.

Professional
I work in Quality Control for Amgen, so I work for one of those big bad biotech/pharmaceutical companies everyone likes to think makes too much money. I am trying to transition to Regulatory Affairs/Compliance so I can help ensure our drugs are safe for the patients.
I too, have a small side income as a landscape photographer. (some of my Rockies related images have been posted in the fanshots links).
I have a lot of friends
who are in the Army at Ft. Carson. It also helps that I grew up in Security. Do you get to many Sky Sox games?
JFK
I honestly haven't
I try to get to about a dozen games at Coors during the summer instead

Not a bad idea...
I generally try to catch more Rockies games too, but it is really hard to pass up $2 Tuesday’s if/when I’m in town. $2 for Parking, Ticket Anywhere and Beer.

Working, not professional. I don't think.
Work two jobs and go to school. Winrar!
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
PhD Student at RPI in Troy, NY
Officially student, although I don’t have anymore classes required before I graduate, just research, so I think it could count as a job as well (since I am paid to do this school thing as a research assistant). The PhD is in either Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, though I am probably more of a physicist at this point.

Traveler?
I was a working professional back in the summer, I have my electrical license and was working on the base housing on the Air Force Academy, I also just (may) graduated with a double major in Economics and Business Administration from CSU (go Rams!) Had a real nice 60k a year job (not bad when you’re only 24 a bachelor and no kids) but deciding i had more freedom then I was likely to have in the next 30+ years I threw it all away, packed my bags and moved to Christchurch, New Zealand on a one year working visa. Now I bartend riverside in New Zealand’s second largest city while enjoying the sun and the beach (its summer here, stays mid 60’s to mid 70’s) and the gorgeous women.
Studied Abroad there in 2004
In Dunedin, and was born in Wellington (though never lived there). Had a blast. Skied a ton, traveled all over. Enjoy your time down there, i’m a little jealous.
I'm a student, an insurance professional
and I write for the Colorado Springs Independent.

I think I want to be the GM of the Yankees so I can personally run that franchise into the ground

But that could end up being like "Brewster's Millions"
It might be hard to run the Yankees into the ground even if one tried. (but the Mets have shown it’s not umpossible!)
It's pretty sad that one franchise has
such an enormous financial advantage over everyone else that it would actually be difficult to run them into the groud if you tried.

that there are little Rockies fans now who will grow up without a memory of the first two full decades of the franchise.
