12-minute interview with Huston Street
Friends of the Row,
We just posted our full-length interview with one of the newest Rockies, Huston Street. He seems really down-to-earth, grounded, a real team player. At least, that's my opinion of how he comes off in the interview.
Street talks about where he was when he got the news he was being dealt - in fact, it was another member of the NL West who first gave him the heads up. Those who know Oakland A's history can probably guess who. All pretty interesting stuff. Definitely worth watching.

I'm gonna go ahead and hijack your thread here too
I never thought about this, because everyone hails Billy Beane as a genius, but what effect does Billy Beane have on the players? Street was saying that Oakland is like a revolving door there, new faces in and out all the time.
I know baseball players have to deal with the concept that they’ll be traded any day, but it seems like when you play Moneyball, you’d be living in a constant fear.
Does it make mentally stronger players, or does it make nervous headcases?

Thanks for the link.
I like him. Seems like he’ll fit in well. Although now I’ll be obsessed with him getting his two at-bats, heh.

As long as
I get to see them. I like his idea of cheering for the pitcher in the 9th, no matter who it is. Keep up the optimism and working hard.
