On Recommendations
Here's a little visual guide on how recommendations in the comments work.
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
Once a comment receives three recs, the comment should turn green and have that asterisk there. Here's an example:
Voila! There you have it.

You just had to have your example...

But seriously, thanks for that brief tutorial.

Welcome to the front page, Jabberwocky. Russ loves featuring stuff that takes us down a notch or two,
You did read Monday’s Rockpile, right? I think it’s a sign that he secretly thinks we’re the bees knees, at least I’ve always interpreted it that way.

Now that I see my post all in green...
I must have more!
Though the asterisk does look like a negative film review on Rotten Tomatoes.

While it's good
to have people familiar with rec’s, etc, I’d rather that they aren’t used. I was over on Athletics Nation earlier today, looking at how they felt about Wimberly/Murton. That whole site is one big popularity contest, with people throwing rec’s around left and right. I much prefer the tight community we have here :) .

I enjoy reading
the comments as they are posted, and responding accordingly. I do not see the point in recommending a comment be read, although I might the point for an excellent fan post/shot.

This
My first message board was a big popularity contest as well. I don’t know if this is a smart idea. It’ll end up a lot of slapfighting and such.

Honestly
If people can’t handle that ideas they don’t agree with can be shown in green, you should just shut down the comments entirely.

I'm just concerned
that everyone will rate my comments so great that the site will have to just be changed to SB Nation presents: Rockies Magic Number, a Rockies blog

The default to
highlight a comment is five recs; I lowered the setting to get things going.
