The easy way to sum up this game would be to use theoldgrizzlybear's comment during the game about what the game wrap should be:
Morales and Hirsh got pwned by Minor League hitters.
Matt Murton hit a home run.
We still suck.
But what did Morales and Hirsh do to be "pwned by Minor League Hitters?" Morales allowed three home runs in three innings, two by Jeff Mathis. Yet, Mathis isn't really a minor league hitter. Morales wound up with this line: 3 IP, 9 H, 7/5 R/ER. It was a bad day overall to be a Rockies pitcher. Jason Hirsh followed with 2 2/3 innings of four runs, four walks, and a hit-by-pitch. Matt Daley had the best outing of the day as he came in to record the final out of the sixth inning. Greg Smith will give it a go tomorrow in his bid to be the team's fifth starter.
Matt Murton did, indeed, hit a home run, but let's not forget Joe Koshansky's RBI triple. Other than that, the offense didn't do much. The Rockies had no hits through 4 1/3 innings before a favorite punching bag of many here had a base knock, Yorvit Torrealba.
You can find the wrap rating inside the game thread. It's hard to miss.
