Caught the end of this.

The panel of three agreed on the Rockies finishing fourth. Bullpen issues, Jeff Francis injury, loss of Matt Holliday. . . Clint Hurdle had some sort of domino analogy.

That's pretty much what I figured they'd say

It’s the safest projection out there. People would call them idiots for projecting the Rockies to do as well or better after losing two All-Stars

All-Time Team

On the show, there was a Rockies All-Time team:

2B Eric Young
CF Ellis Burks
1B Todd Helton
RF Larry Walker
LF Dante Bichette
3B Vinny Castilla
SS Neifi Perez
C Chris Ianetta

A little too soon for Ianetta? I could see perhaps in the future, but for now I’d go with either Jeff Reed or maybe even Joe Girardi.

Thoughts?

Holliday?

Bichette over Holliday? I like Dante, but …

In other news...

Nobody seems to know how to spell Iannetta :)

Interesting

I saw them at the Game yesterday doing something but I was unsure as to what MLB Network was doing since the game was not being broadcast. This is cool, I will have to look at the video once it is posted.

And they just went on and on about

how hard it is to play/manage at Coors yada yada yada and about how much we’re going to miss Matt.

They did mention the loss of Francis and Bucky a couple of times. They said the rotation is thin and it’s going to be up to the middle relievers to get it to the closers. Wow, I hadn’t thought about that……….GOOD GRIEF!!!

Talked about Hawpe’s stellar D and arm and went on about Atkins’ D as well. They did hit briefly on Atkins’ offensive downturn over the last few years and the general feeling seemed that it wasn’t that big of a deal. No mention of Stewie at all and just briefly about Dixie.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty poor job of reporting on the Rockies.

I suppose we shouldn't have expected much

They would do far better to interview the managers of SBNation each year

At least they would get

some in depth, factual information.

Oh yeah,

that segment on what playing 81 games at Coors does to you was riveting. [rolls eyes]

Definately not what I expected

This just goes to show how much these “sports writers” think they know about the Rockies and how mch they are missing

Some hope?
