Monday Rockplie: Jhoulys Chacin to make Orange Jhoulys at Colorado Springs to start the season?
As Rox Girl linked to earlier today, Jack Etkin reported yesterday that Jhoulys Chacin may start the season with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, not Tulsa, if he continues to pitch as well as he has done so far in spring training. We also receive some info on who will be with Tulsa to start the season: Samuel Deduno, Esmil Rogers, Aneury Rodriguez, Keith Weiser, Chaz Roe, and Ching-Lung Lo. Depending on where Chacin starts, the Tulsa rotation will have at least three pitchers from Baseball America's Top 30 prospects. And in useless information, all three of those guys have last names that start with "Ro." Anyway, let the Chacin countdown clock start!
Ian Stewart believes Todd Helton looks like the Todd of old, but then Stewart hit a double in the game that had Todd Helton's homer as the story. Ringolsby goes into Stewart's situation a bit more.
Woody Paige doesn't go on a diatribe today when he writes about Carlos Gonzalez, but he does compare spring statistics between the current #5 and the former #5.
In today's intrasquad game, Jason Marquis, Glendon Rusch, Randy Flores, Ryan Mattheus, Shane Lindsay, and Steven Register will take the mound. There will be no imaginary game thread today, but there will be a "Welcome to Purple Row" entry since we've had an influx of new readers over the past couple of weeks and I want to encourage them to stick around.

Huge years
from CDI and Helton would definitely help certain segments of the media forget the old #5.
Not Woody
He’ll be still comparing #5 to #5.

Woody Paige
might not appreciate being called “the beast.”

Last year it was cool to see Woody walking around the fields at Corbett. This year, I may just kick him in the shin and call him a bandwagoner.
I think that would break his feeble shins
Then he’d have to wear grey pants

Renck
edited his post. Originally he him listed it as Matt McKenry.
Game update here.
Apparently Todd batted 3rd for both teams?

Todd batting third for both teams isn't unusual
for a player coming off an injury to get extra work in to catch up. Sometimes they’ll have guys lead off every inning to get them AB’s.
