Yay overflow thread!
How many does that make, 6 in 4 games?

We had three each for the first two games
Two for the third, and this is the first for the fourth, so nine so far!
Here is the rule that backs up the umpire's decision..
Rule 6.05
(k) In running the last half of the distance from home base to first base, while the ball is being fielded to first base, he runs outside (to the right of) the three-foot line, or inside (to the left of) the foul line, and in the umpire’s judgment in so doing interferes with the fielder taking the throw at first base, in which case the ball is dead; except that he may run outside (to the right of) the three-foot line or inside (to the left of) the foul line to avoid a fielder attempting to field a batted ball;

I thought this was out there...
My days of little league umpiring has paid off. The runner has to run on the outside of the three foot line to avoid the play.
It's opening day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Appreciate all your hard work.
But in my judgement, the umpire’s judgement was wrong

The runner has to avoid the defensive player...
Which Dexter failed to do, however the previous rule I mentioned states that if the play occurs as the same time he touches the base he is safe. So they probably should have cancelled each other out.

Still though willing to give this year’s Rox a chance, even with Holliday gone. I like Huston and think he’ll be a good fit.
Here’s a stat for you:
In just FOUR games (including this one) the Rockies have scored a total of 27 runs. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit

I've always been a supporter of sorts...
I just don’t think we should rely on him for this kind of start everytime out, but often enough to keep us in things, and his bat will help us when it’s a bit closer.

Number of pitches in Fowler’s at bats today
1st – 2
3rd – 1
4th – 1
6th – 3
8th – 1
Obviously one game does a not a trend make, and I know he was asked to bunt in a few of these. Does this concern anybody that he is up there hacking? Don’t know what his track record is but generally patience is a good trait in a lead off hitter.
If only the Rockies had pitching like the Giants...
Then maybe they could contend with an awful lineup.
Colorado didn't even get anything for Holliday
They just have him away – imagine if they actually had guys in the minor leagues they got in the Holiday deal who could improve the team further.
