I so called this. Holliday wants the big stage and the big paycheck.

Well if his numbers stay where they are now
he isn’t going to be getting the megadeal he wanted. He has a .273 BA with a .704 OPS, only about 250 points lower than last year. Maybe something like 5 years at $15 million instead of 7 at $20 million per.
Holliday being the poster child for inflated offense at Coors will help us resign our FA’s in the future as we won’t have to overpay, but it also kills the trade value of a guy like Atkins.
Yea
I saw some recent speculation that he won’t get it unless he starts hitting for power, and soon. He doesn’t have a ton of time to shake off the Coors stigma. That 4/82mil might be the best offer he could have received. I like Matty – but I sure hope Boras shot himself in the foot.

I think a little bit as a human being you can’t help but to think that if the Yankees are interested I would definitely consider it. I wouldn’t be looking around if I were under contract for the four years, but I think I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be interested, especially with the Yankees being such a storied franchise. So yeah, you take a look around; you never know what’s going to happen. This is a beautiful place.

I don't know RMN
They just asked him if he’d consider playing for the Yankees, if they wanted him, when Oakland was visiting there. What is he going to say, no? It would be foolish to burn any bridges. He didn’t pick the Yankees out of the blue to identify as a place he wants to play. Answering that question amicably is different than outright wanting a big stage and paycheck.

Oh I know
It’s mountains and molehills. I’m just saying that if he lands in NY, I won’t be shocked, and if he lands with the Mets, I totally called it.

He'll Be A Met
I’ve thought all along that he’d either be a Dodger or a Met. With ManRam signed for next season in LA, that’s out of the question. The Mets are in need of a left fielder, they don’t mind spending money, and they always need to do something to upstage the Yankees. Holliday’ll be a Met.
