Dexter Fowler

I've been a rockies fan for a long time, but I don't know much about the ins and outs of baseball, so forgive me if these questions seem a little obvious.

So clearly everyone likes Dexter for the talent he has as a hitter and for his speed in left field.  The question I have is, would he still be considered a very good prospect or is he in the majors for good?  Obviously he has a lot of talent, otherwise he wouldn't have made the jump from AA to the team (see: Tulowitzki).  But despite that, would some time in AAA have helped him work out some kinks?

Two things that I am noticing are that 1) he needs to work on baserunning.  He is fast enough to steal bases but is getting caught a lot.  2)  He needs to know when not to make a diving catch, or how to get better at making diving catches.  Sometimes he just needs to let the ball drop in front of him and not let it get by him.

So my big question is, are these things that can be fine tuned at the major league level?  I personally love him so far, he can actually get on base (see:  Willy T last year...)  and would like to see him play everyday (even though it looks like that is coming at the expense of Seth Smith).  However, I can't help but wonder if some time in Colorado Springs first would have helped him improve tweak a few things.
