Technically we won the game I was at when he pitched, though Hampton got a no decision.

getting through 6 innings this year.
Make him throw some ptiches, and he’s done.
And the pen is mostly Rockies rejects: Arias, Hawkins

Hawkins has been doing well though. He’s not a bad pitcher, and he wasn’t with CO either. He got off to a bad start though, so his Rockies Rep was forever smeared.

Arias was in AAA, called up not long ago
Astros’ 7-8-9 were supposed to be their key to success with aging starters.
Geary (7) has been awful, Brocail (8) is on the DL for the 2nd time &
Valverde (9) was doing a good M. Corpas imitation before he got hurt.

Remember
that Mark Reynolds, Emilio Bonifacio, Justin Upton, Clay Zavada, and now Bryan Augenstein and Gerardo Parra have all made the jump from AA straight to the majors for the Dbacks. Of those players, only Bonifacio has seen significant time in AAA. (Last year, before being traded)

I never thought that I would hate a Rockie...
but I have found myself seriously hating Garrett Atkins…I really used to like him, but now I hate him. I think his laxidasical attitude to go along with his slow bat and poor defense has finally done me in.

My top 5 disappointments..
1. Atkins leading the team in ABs and hitting .202
2. Tulo, Barmes, Stewart, CDI all hitting below .250
3. Tulo is playing below average defense
4. Cook and Uball pitching with a >4.70 ERA
5. Relievers are below average, Corpas is horrible, Embree is horrible, Belisle wishes he could improve to horrible.

seems to be a fine line between

At some point you do have to save some bullpen arms for the next game.

Coors Field
has the largest OF in all of baseball. Lots of balls drop in front of the OF’s and lots of gap shots. They did that because of the fear of Home Runs….but the solution to cheap altitude HR’s is to raise the walls
A smaller outfield would allow the fielders to reach more balls..
The higher walls would cutdown on the HR’s, not too much higher. Maybe just the same height as the RF scoreboard would be enough.
