Matt Holliday this week

I will be seeing Matt Holliday this week during this homestand.

Our club house is adjacent to the visiting team's and I should have plenty of chances to harass him.

Does he know about Purple Row and are there any messages that I can relay?
I will be working Monday-Wednesday however not the day game on Thursday since I can't get the day off at the P.D so if there is any messages for Matt, let me know.

I'd like to get a picture with him (although this is not generally permitted) and send it to someone there before the Purple Row get together so I can represent.

Or we can just start a fan post that I can print out and give it to him like a stalker......

That's pretty much how it went....

that’s funny. It actually was kinda awkward for some reason. I asked if knew what Purple Row.com was and he said that he has heard of it. I thought that was cool.

He beat the Rays with a blast in the 10th tonight. I HATE working games like that (long). But I was happy for him . I took a pretty cool picture tonight. I’ll try to figure out how to post it. I am trying to put the image right on this page. Why won’t it let me do it? I thought I’ve done it before. Here is the link to the picture.

How did the picture show up on the page? Or are mods only able? I tried using Photbucket and Image shack but I couldn’t get the right link. I swear I’ve done this before. Or at least I thought so.

That's amazing

I had a great Holliday story from a couple years ago from down in Miami, and actually was down there for work, and the Rockies came in that weekend. I was there early watching the away team BP and there were only a hand full of people. Mostly professional autograph seakers…after BP as they headed into the locker room the players stopped to sign a few cards. There was a father with 2 young children. The littlest one, about 5 or 6 years old, started crying, “I’m two widdle, and they can’t see me and I can’t get an autograph”. I was talking/BS’ing with an usher, and I looked at him, and we grabbed the boy and literally held the kid out to Matt Holliday. I yelled, “MATT!, ONE MORE PLEASE” and when he saw it was a little boy, he stopped and signed one more. The weird part, it all happened so fast, the poor father, didn’t do a thing..

I doubt that the kid would keep the autograph through the night…but it made my night!

Anyway..if you see Matt tomarrow, feel free to pass along this, and tell him, I said thanks, and I was proud to buy his jersey with a World Series patch on it!

He was a bit “focused” last night as he had a bad game the previous night. Tonight should be a bit better (I hope) as he hit the game winning homer last night. You know who else is cool…..Jack Cust.

I told him the story and he had a big smile.

I also told him that the people who bought and wear his jersey were proud to have it. He said – “They still wear my jersey?”.
After BP, he signed autographs for what seemed like an extra long time. I don’t work today’s game so that’s the last time I see him (unless he get’s traded).

and yeah Matt, we wear your jersey…damn thing cost near $100, and that’s big money to us workin folk. But I got it with the World Series patch…to commemorate that great September, and Holliday who was my favorite player on the team (even though when I bought it, I knew he would be leaving soon)

Grounds Crew.

I basically prepare the infield before the game, manicure third base (so if Longoria has an error, it’s pretty much my fault !) He’s actually a great guy. Very humble and very focused. I have been so impressed with his demeanor .

Last night Nomar asked me how do the seeds get picked up (the A’s are the worst when it comes to sunflower seeds). I picked up a broom and dust pan and handed it to one of my fellow employees and he followed him around picking up the seeds that he “discarded”. It was a pretty funny moment.

Matt chews a lot of seeds..

At least at the games I attended. I miss him sooo much. I used to get cheap leftfield seats whenever I visited Denver and watch him carry the team. Back in 04-05 you could just tell there wasn’t anyone else on the team, he WAS the team.

At tonight’s game, I saw a man with a Rockies shirt who was with a woman with an A’s Matt Holliday jersey. They looked like they were at the game early to see Matt take BP. I went up into the stands and asked if they were from Colorado. They said that the woman was . So I told them about Purple Row.com and that they should check it. out.
Now all we need are tee-shirts and I’ll be a walking billboard !

T-shirts

If someone designs something, an excellent option for production/sale is Cafe Press. You can easily add different styles and colors, plus even other merchandise (mugs, mouse pads, you name it). I was in another fandom that used Cafe Press, and I bought a number of items. The tricky thing is what to do with the money. It would be easy to have any profit go to a charity or something.

I’d like to use this site’s logo if possible.

Or something like the logo on the front, “Rowbot” on the back like how your name appears on a jersey.

Or “Rowbot” across the front using the script that the Rockies use . Maybe put “+1” on the back like a players number.
