YES!!!

This is the confidence inspiring move we have all been waiting for.

Did I miscount the 40 man or...

…do they still have to announce a roster move?

by FooMan on May 18, 2009 1:01 PM MDT reply actions

Homerrific

Peralta can be.

1.4/9 career, 15 in 52 2/3 innings in 2008. Whoa.

As I theorized when we called up Daley...

the most likely guy to get off the 40 man would be Register. Him, Mattheus, or Q (I can only hope).

Well, if we removed Q, we'd obviously be calling up someone else too.

My first thought was Mattheus. I was just seeing if anybody knew who it actually is.

FO

I know the front office has discussed that there may be some radical moves forthcoming. Would anyone be surprised to see Chacin get called up and used in the Pen? It seems like this has been the strategy with a few top pitching prospects in other organizations. If O’Dowd is not looking past 2009, I guess it wouldn’t shock me to see it happen. I’m not saying I think it would be the right move – but might make sense in terms of the expected roster shakeup.

Register DFA'd

According to Steve Foster of Insidetherockies.com, Register was DFA’d.

Good call, jabberwocky. If you’re not willing to call him up for something like this, ya might as well.

by FooMan on May 18, 2009 2:41 PM MDT reply actions

Also, I would guess he'd clear.

Disclaimer: I don’t know much about him.

by FooMan on May 18, 2009 2:44 PM MDT up reply actions

He was Rule 5'd last year by the Mets.

So other teams know who he is. But if he’ll be seen as a commodity, I don’t know. I am not certain if a team out there is in such deep pen trouble that they’re willing to claim him.
