Jason Marquis: Average stuff. Needs to locate well to succeed. Matches up well against teams who are to aggressive.

Part of me wants to write that this is exactly the kind of pitcher who will give the Giants trouble. It’s a little too specific of a scouting report, though. This one might be more versatile:

Pitcher: Wears a hat. Throws stitched ball with left or right hand. Stands on pile of dirt.

Wins carry a lot of weight in All-Star selection

as do home runs. Considering he leads the NL in wins and has more wins than any player has HR except Iannetta, you’d have to think Marquis would be our All-Star if the game were played tomorrow.

There’s a lot that can shake out in the next two months though
