Somethings in the Works
Rosenthal had a little blip in his article about the Rockies... quite an interesting little development.

Rick Peterson
for pitching coach. Hmm. . . .

Is Willie Randolph availabe too?
Seriously, though, was Peterson’s reign the last time Ollie Perez was effective
Randolph
I believe that he is currently Ken Macha’s bench coach in Milwaukee.
And yes, Peterson was the pitching coach last time Perez was effective. If I’m not mistaken, he was Randolph’s pitching coach the entire time that Randolph was managing there.

Peterson?
I don’t know. The Mets ‘pen was terrible the past couple of years, and they were way more talented on paper than the Rockies, with the exception of Fuentes. That’s why he was fired in the first place. As far as I’m concerned, after Apodaca, we should think long and hard before getting another pitching coach that was once a pitching coach with the Mets.
On the other hand, he couldn’t possibly be worse than Apodaca.

+1
I don’t know a thing about Peterson and I’ll take him right now over Apodaca.
Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field?
