Nicasio
Any reason to be excited here? He’s a little old for Asheville, but his first three outings with them have been stellar, and he was pretty good at Tri-City last year too. Is there something here, or will we have to wait and see what happens if he’s pushed to a higher level?

I like Nicasio, he's been one of my favorite sleepers for a long time
He’s got one of the better sinking FB’s in a system full of pretty good ones, it’s always been a matter of him developing his other pitches, particularly the slider, to go complement. He won’t rack up a lot of K’s, but could be a solid innings eater down the road.
Should be.
That way we’ll slot in Matzek.

Also it’s time to see EYJ.
Matt Murton status: Prisoner Exchanged for Fredo
Chris Iannetta status: Mashing AAA
Seth Smith status: Badass
Mike McCoy status: FREE MIKE MCCOY
Where does EYJ play though?
When we figure that out, I can’t wait to see him run.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

The scout interviewed called Friedrich the best prospect he’s seen all year so far. Originally thought to only profile as a #3 or #4 starter, he’s now seen as much better……and better than Jeff Francis looked back in the day.
The scout was comparing him to Erik Bedard and said he had true top of the rotation ace potential now.

And it is genuinely exciting stuff.
