He was drafted by the Cards out of high school in 2005,
So he’s a senior, we know he’s cheap and not likely to make an impact.
with a name like that
you know his pitching outings are doomed

Not too shabby. I like taking flyers on college closers with solid numbers.
So long as our scouts sign off on their stuff. I’m really curious about what we make of Bargas in this regard.

We've got a major MI talent on the radar from the Dominican that we're the frontrunners for, Rossell Herrera
According to a Kiley McDaniel Baseball Prospectus article from the other day. And we have Hector Gomez, EY2 in the minors, and while they are still relatively far away, I came away impressed with both Thomas Field and Carlos Martinez after watching them last night.
The other point being....
We still need to have 2B/SS at Tri-City and Casper this year….
We did draft a couple of decent filler guys yesterday,
I’m guessing Angelys Nina fills one slot as well. It’s funny that last season we were complaining about too many middle infielders at those levels.
and don't forget Mike McCoy

Sort of like how Dubois, Pennsylvania is actually pronounced DOO-boys locally.
If ever there was a town that needed to go to the snootier possible pronunciation, that one probably qualifies.
It's actually nice because...
as soon as you hear someone say Ar-vaah-dah or not pronouce Gallapago St. Gal-a-peg-oh, you know they are not native and can be dismissed immediately. :)
Arvada
That’s where I’m from. In high school we went to marching band nationals and when they introduced us they pronounced both Arvada and Colorado wrong. And there’s also Nevada. The “a” in all three of those should be as in “apple,” but so many mispronounce them.

So when they start getting these guys signed

the Rockies draft Matthew Sanders, 3B, Clemson.

Interesting, we add the Tigers 3B to their 1B we already had.
And now we have two Sanders that play third from the SEC in this draft also.

we’re going nearly all college players in later rounds. Obviously no highschool kid taken in the 24th round is going to sign. Unless he’s go zero college prospects.

Quote from his coach:
"He’s a true Titan and a great leader… he solidified our defense last year when we put him at second base. He had a tremendous year offensively in the Fall"
He sounds like a grinder/team leader type of pick that the Rockies will want to help keep other guys motivated.

Helped lead Fayetteville to three straight state championships. And definitely seems likely that he’s related to the former AD, so luring him from that commitment would be next to impossible.

An article on Green is at Colorado Baseball Insider
I’m guessing he’s got to have some sort of pretty strong college commitment, I’m looking for where right now.
never mind, it was the next link down.
Wichita State’s a big time program, but this one seems at least a little feasible to lure him off of, we’ll see.
Green's a stud
Never seen a high school player run like he does. That makes two of my brother’s current teammates that were drafted after Anderson from Mtn. Vista went in round 28 to the Astros yesterday (he’s a Mizzou commit).

He's a high school kid.
Seems like he’d be better off going to college being drafted this late, right?
Probably...
If there was some real chance of him playing for the organization right now, he would have gone earlier, I’m guessing.

Typo
on MLB’s part. Tyler went to Eaton, played for the Reds. Good hitter, but there’s no way he skips college.
Sterling absolutely reeks of nepotism. I think even he’d be surprised he was drafted. I suppose look for Monfort to complete the Eaton triumvirate and nab Logan Hall.
