The Rockies go for number 12 tonight, and perhaps more importantly, look to get back to .500 for the year, when they face the defending American League Champion Tampa Bay Rays (winners of five in a row, themselves). Jorge De La Rosa will try to right the ship at home, where he is 0-4 with a 6.67 ERA in 2009.

you can’t use those two starts to say he’s good. You have to look at the body of work, which is universally bad. And he’s been in the majors 6 years now, I think we can stop talking about his “upside.”

Yep...he's been VERY good in 5 of his last 8 starts since the start of May
but he was atrocious in April and with the full body of work, he’s been terrible. He’ll catch up to someone else on the staff by the end of the year I’m sure

even though it’s obvious DLR has been terrible this year, prepare to get beaten into submission with obscure stats, but only the ones that make the case for DLR supporters. Most people would agree with you and me that DLR has been bad this year, and the 5 years he’s been in the majors prior.

There are stathead people and there are eye test/scout people
RMN and I are both stat people. I am because it removes personal bias. You can twist stats to some degree, but they are more true than saying “he sucks. everyone knows he sucks.” And tRA is one of the most respected statistics in evaluating pitchers.

I do pay attention to stats...
but with Fogg the love is more of the sentimental type that transcends beyond that. Rocktober 07 and even before, I have been a Fogg fan.

Not trolls, they were just unaware that Purple Row's got stricter posting protocols than a lot of our blogs.
The AL seems to have quite a few that go pretty low brow at times. I guess we have a few NL blogs like that too, just not as many it seems.

I'd argue that we have a good mix of low-brow, high-brow, wordplay, and images.
But the main difference between our GDTs and yours is we get relatively frenzied over there, you guys in comparison are much calmer. Nothing wrong with that though, just a different pace.
