what are you talking about?
I never said that you can’t be a successful pitcher without a dominant fastball. However, Fogg doesn’t have even an average fastball to go along with a bunch of other crappy pitches. There’s a reason he’s not on any other MLB teams.

Well obviously you don't care for Fogg and I think he's a decent role guy. So we can just leave it there.

You can only be on one team at a time.
I think they put that rule in in the late 1970s. I think it’s a good rule.

but you know what he means. If he were better, he wouldn’t be on the Rockies. Isn’t that the way it goes? we’re really just a farm team that other teams can pick and choose who they please from us, as long as we get that nice prospect who will “be the next big slugger”
relax big guy
We lost. It stinks. It was a good piece of hitting by Miggy Tabs.

Ever heard of Jeff Francis?
NL southpaw starting pitcher in the mid-2000’s. Fastball topped out around 87mph as well. Won 17 games in 2007 locating that 87mph 4-seamer.
lefty
he’s trying to display that soft tossing lefties are even less successful

Maybe so, but I honestly don't think this is Fogg's fault at all.
Some hitters are going to hit out good pitches regardless of who the pitcher is or how hittable he is.
it was the 90th inning, it's a mopup situation
Why not blame someone else who didn’t come through earlier in the game? This isn’t all on Fogg.

and so, another manager drops below .500
and so does all our hope, until tomorrow, when we once again become overly optimistic, which is the way it will be until we start winning ballgames. stupid, vicious cycle.
Ain't baseball great!!!

sometimes I wish I could just not love this team.
I try to watch something else, like a sitcom or something else stupid, but then I realize that if I didn’t love baseball, I might miss a really awesome play or something, and I immediately flip back to FSN. This is also a vicious cycle.
The movie on FX is generally decent
but I cannot watch that because I enjoy the game too much.

As I See It
I don’t see one guy on this team that’s clutch. We had more than a couple of opportunities to win this game. Street? Nope. (But I’ll cut him a little slack, since he’s done well until tonight.) Stewart? NOT. Hawpe? Well, you get the drift. Until somebody consistently gets the hit, makes the catch, etc, etc, this is how 2009 goes.
Yeah, I’m a little ticked off right now….
So. When is enough enough?
Well, I think Hawpe has been doing a pretty good job.
You can’t expect him to come through and get a hit every single at bat. otherwise his average would be 1.000, and he wouldn’t be playing for the Rockies.
But, yes, we do need more consistency. and now there’s no Hurdle to blame it on, so it’s just going to be a waiting game until these guys can figure it out.
Just to clarify
I don’t expect Hawper to get a hit everytime he’s up. Not possible. My point was only that the Rox lack the guy (whoever it happens to be from night to night) who makes the play. Whether offensively or defensively. Or maybe they just lack the heart to really step up and make those plays.
Like I said, I’m a little ticked off right now, so I’m probably not being as clear as I should be.
So. When is enough enough?
Apparently
Hawpe, Atkins, and Murton are our clutchest guys.

Its actually kind of nice right now
casue there is no expectation to win and the sooner we get way out of this thing the sooner we can see some much needed changes and a more athletic team on the field.

I mean obviously in a perfect world this would be a competitive team, but they aren't
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
I'm just saying, if it was a closer race I would be angry at every loss
but I don’t have to be in a bad mood after every loss this season
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
I guess the sad thing was
having to turn the game off in the 8th, and just checking the outcome, almost expecting the loss. And there it was.

I had faith in Street, but once he started putting people on, the loss was inevitable
this offense is atrocious right now
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
No way
You can pin this one on Street. Yeah, he blew the save, but we had our chances after he left the game.
So. When is enough enough?
Who's pinning this on Street?
He’s been very good for us and had 1 off night and it should never have been 2-1, I’m blaming the horrible offense for this one. As you’ll notice I said the loss was inevitable and followed that w/ our offense is atrocious right now. I knew even if they only tied the game we would never get that go-ahead run and win.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
i agree you could see it coming
never added the insurance run…just knew it was coming…this team is awful
2 more wins for back to back on the Pens and a repeat Go Wings!!!

Or got kidnapped.
Isn’t Venezuela where family members of wealthy people or athletes get kidnapped a lot for ransom? Or is it another South American country?
In any case, I really hope whatever it is it not as dire and that all of his people are okay or will be okay.
Brazil is the kidnapping capital of the world.
But who knows, maybe Venezuela has a decent share too.

It's painful to watch the post-game show.
I feel like a schmuck watching these talking FSRM heads spoon-feed some horsesh!t silver-lining angle to yet another loss. I’m sure they hate dishing it out too.
you can tell sometimes, after a really tough loss, that it's hard for them to talk about it
like they’re being forced to, which at times they probably are. Its losses like these that are tough on everyone.
Tulo xrays negative. Calling it a bruise for now.
