I never said that you can’t be a successful pitcher without a dominant fastball. However, Fogg doesn’t have even an average fastball to go along with a bunch of other crappy pitches. There’s a reason he’s not on any other MLB teams.

As I See It

I don’t see one guy on this team that’s clutch. We had more than a couple of opportunities to win this game. Street? Nope. (But I’ll cut him a little slack, since he’s done well until tonight.) Stewart? NOT. Hawpe? Well, you get the drift. Until somebody consistently gets the hit, makes the catch, etc, etc, this is how 2009 goes.

Yeah, I’m a little ticked off right now….

So. When is enough enough?

by rockhead on Jun 2, 2009 10:12 PM MDT reply actions

Well, I think Hawpe has been doing a pretty good job.

You can’t expect him to come through and get a hit every single at bat. otherwise his average would be 1.000, and he wouldn’t be playing for the Rockies.

But, yes, we do need more consistency. and now there’s no Hurdle to blame it on, so it’s just going to be a waiting game until these guys can figure it out.

by Rockie4Ever on Jun 2, 2009 10:15 PM MDT up reply actions

Just to clarify

I don’t expect Hawper to get a hit everytime he’s up. Not possible. My point was only that the Rox lack the guy (whoever it happens to be from night to night) who makes the play. Whether offensively or defensively. Or maybe they just lack the heart to really step up and make those plays.

Like I said, I’m a little ticked off right now, so I’m probably not being as clear as I should be.

So. When is enough enough?
