Monday Rockpile: Rockies head to Los Angeles or Anaheim or somewhere in California to play a team that has a name problem
Rockies red-hot run improves to 16-1 - The Denver Post
Both the Angels and the Rockies have performed well against the other league this year, so is this a meeting of two unstoppable forces? Or are the Rockies more of an unstoppable force than the Angels? You know, like that whole Animal Farm "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others" (but in a good sense).
Garrett Atkins' playing time - The Denver Post
While the first part of this article is about Jorge De La Rosa, the second part lets us know that Garrett Atkins will likely be the DH on the road trip.

Baseball Prospectus | Future Shock: NL Draft Wrap
Kevin Goldstein reviews the NL's drafts and he's definitely a fan of the Rockies'. If the Rockies don't sign Matzek it probably won't be that impressive to him, but it'll still be a good one.

Does Ground Outkins really have to DH?
seriously? He isn’t worth a box of balls in trade and a couple of DH starts isn’t going to improve that. What it will ensure is a higher number of GIDP than we have seen in recent days.
Go Rockies!!!
yeah
I figure they should DH Hawpe and put CarGon in RF, and then either Spills or Smith would be fine in LF.
But why ask us right
Chris Iannetta status: DOOM
Seth Smith status: Badass
Matt Murton status: Prisoner Exchanged for CarGon
Mike McCoy status: FREE MIKE MCCOY

Two things
1. The DP reporters are often wrong; there’s no indication from Jim Tracy that this is his plan. That said, I do expect Atkins will get at least two games as DH over the next six.
2. Jim Tracy’s earned the benefit of the doubt. We’re something like 324-5 since he took over the hot seat. If his analysis leads him to believe starting Atkins at DH this week gives the Rox a better opportunity to win, he’s earned a bit of trust on this.

the Rockies would have been part of this entry (shameless plug to help the new site on the network).
Also, the Angles have named their pitcher of the year award for Nick Adenhart.

Clint Hurdle
will be on the MLB Network today (6 ET) as a guest analyst. Might be good to hear what he says about the Rockies.

IIs it a studio show?
I don’t get the MLB Network, so I’d be interested in a report. Not only what he says about the Rockies, but also how he is as an analyst.
Yeah, it's a studio show.
Someone sent me audio of the intro. If you want it, e-mail me. He’s supposedly doing two hours tomorrow during their live look-in segments.
