Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

As long as we're caught up on picking up barrel-scraping pitching, we might kick the tires on Fossum. While his career numbers are nothing special, he's done well between AAA Buffalo and AAA Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

Speaking of AAA SWB, we might also take a look at Sergio Mitre. He's showing impeccable control vs AAA batting (20K/2BB), but could also be a trade candidate if we start getting hurt or something.

Fossum

You think they should try him at the major league level?

I assume if he didn’t want to pitch in the Yankees AAA team, with their middle relief issues on the big club, that he wouldn’t want to pitch for the Sky Sox.

Free Seth Smith!

How many opportunities has Fossum had?

This story seems familiar
This isn’t 2003 anymore, and that arm’s had a lot of mileage but the ego of entitlement to a big league roster spot still seems just as strong for him. I say pass.

Well I wouldn't say he's better than anyone we have

but that’s why Morales isn’t up with the club, either. He’s injury depth.

Well he's won like

26 games in the past two years with my video game Rockies. Of course my team is 77-0 and they usually put up 10-20 runs a game, but he does an ERA of less than 2. So I’m sure this an accurate reflection of what would happen in real life.

I really don’t think it’s worth having Fossum around. Surely we have enough other pitchers around. Perhaps we should be looking to trade some of our extras for pitching depth if we really do well up until the deadline. We’ve got to be able to get some Major League caliber players.
