It was predictable..
but it was funny, I liked the setting in Alaska- Sitka is a very pretty town. Sandra Bullock was gorgeous.

The Rockies need to do a better job of using..
their good young starters as relievers as an introduction to the Majors. A lot of good pitchers started that way.

due to their non-signing of Randy Wolf and the signing of Mike Hampton as the lefty starter. They looked horrible early.

We lost it in the 8th with an 8 run lead and the pitcher the yth man to bat.

Or make a trade of one of our surplus outfielders for a proven reliever.
But it is time to do something.

Unfortunately, both of the two pitchers who could qualify for that are Mattheus and Lindsay, and they're both hurt.

In a blowout, replace bullpen with young kids who underhand the ball to the plate. When it gets outs, bring in Street. Would probably be just as effective, plus you could save money by paying the kids in Flava-Ice

In hindsight, yes.
But I think the decisions made sense at the time. This was more of a performance failure than a decision failure. The reason we have Embree and Rincon is so pitchers like Fogg can pitch when they’re supposed to, instead of when they’re not. But they couldn’t even manage that.

Kidding. Sort of. Gad what a mess that was. I’ve been reticent to say so, but Embree impresses me not at all, and Rincon….well, uhm….
I’m not being alarmist here, but if we’re going to make the playoffs this year we’re gonna need some help from the pen. I don’t see that happening with most of the current crew.
And how far back are we now?
This is why I don't understand why anyone would not be okay with trading Spilly or Atkins
(well, obviously most are okay with Atkins, but some people still think we need to keep Spilly) for any bullpen help we can get. If the trade is there, you have to make it. But maybe it’s not there yet, I don’t know.
