Rockies 2, Dodgers 4: I stayed up for 13 innings of baseball and all I got was this Rockies loss!

Let's see: Everyone pitches well. The Rockies and Dodgers each score two runs in the fifth inning, and then no one scores again until the Dodgers win the game in the bottom of the 13th.

Oh, to be a Rockies fan.

Just curious...

In the morning, once you’ve gotten some sleep, if you have a little time, could you say who the people who reached 100 posts are? Thank you.

Now, about the game: Spilly was awesome. The bullpen was slightly better than expected. That’s all that I can think of, I’m going to bed.

You can't lose that game.

You can NOT lose that game. When you get that kind of work from your ace, and the much-maligned bullpen keeps punching off the ropes… somebody’s got to get a hit. That 10th inning made me want to vomit with rage.

Nice work from Daley, Rincon, Embree, and Peralta too – that third inning was just too much for him but he was great otherwise. Hopefully that unit can gain some confidence because we need them getting guys out.

+1

And the balk in the 5th. but once again lack of hitting with RISP killed us. 1st and 3rd with 0 outs and we can’t get a ball in play even.

In the last two losses...RISP total is 1-20.

0-10 at Anahem last Tuesday, 1-10 last night (and that one didn’t score a run!)

Only two hits in final eight innings: Spilly’s double and Iannetta’s single in the tenth.

17 strikeouts?

That is a massive fail by the offense.

At this point, the Dodgers aren’t afraid of the Rockies at all. We have shown zero evidence that we can beat them. With their bullpen and our choking offense, they can just be patient and believe that eventually they will pull it out.

To me, the high strikeout totals and the thin bullpen are the Rockies’ biggest weaknesses.

The Focus must be the WC

I si,ply refuse to get caught up in the delusion that we (or the Giants) can win the division. The Dodgers should win 95-100 game which is not attainable by this team, considering the start. While 88-90 usually takes the WC. That requires .580 baseball the rest of the way.

I would not be surprised to see 88 wins take it considering the level of play in the NL thus far. If the Dodgers lose the division it will be due to them coming back not teams catching them. While I am frustrated by plate discipline it will happen from game to game (3 of the K’s were against Broxton not unusual for any team)

We are still playing .733 ball under Tracy and while we now expect victories defeats will happen.

Oddly the matchup tonight is the same as the one game we have won against the Dodgers so here is hoping for a rebound. 1win give us a winning road trip which is all i was hoping for.
