Manny being...cheap
A rare update to the Modesto Nuts' blog. I just had to share this Manny Ramirez story.

I apologize for not keeping you as abreast of happenings with the Modesto Nuts this season, but I have been given additional assignments beyond my coverage of the Nuts and just haven't had the time to devote to this blog.
I do appreciate your support and interest, and anyone having questions about the Nuts still can reach me at bvanderbeek@modbee.com.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Wow... but unsurprising. I know Dodgers fans love the guy, but really, that's pretty harsh.
He’s gone full Hollywood, now, can’t mingle with the riff-raff.
Just goes to show that Manny only cares about Manny.

It’s definitely a dick move, but I always hear about how clueless and not very bright the guy is, maybe he just “didn’t know.” If he has a reputation of being a cheapskate, that’s different, but I’ve never heard that…
Actually, he's pretty self aware to a point.
Bill Simmons tell a story of when Ortiz first joined the Red Sox, where the big assumption that Manny was going to fund the whole night, because he’s ‘Manny’, he doesn’t know better, he’s just this big lug that just wanted the party to go on, and Ortiz jokingly had Manny’s wallet and was flaunting it.
The night is winding down, everyone in his party is having a good and Manny picks up his wallet, smiles at the whole group and says, ‘No’. And it turns out Bill Simmons friend paying for the whole night.
Manny is many things, but he’s pretty perceptive of the situation.
I'd heard that story before.
I think Manny’s goofiness is just an act. He’s realized that he can act clueless and silly, and people will let him get away with anything. The guy is well aware of what he’s doing and what he’s putting into his body.
