Vote for your favorite PurpleRow T-Shirt!

I have taken the group's suggestions from a previous Fanpost and submitted the best of the best. So please take the time to look at all the submissions and vote on your favorite! If you see something that you would like to wear then email the person who created it and they will send you a copy. Remember the resolution should be around 300 dpi to look good on the shirt. Email me if you have any questions about dpi. CafePress can create and ship the shirt in as little as 3 days for an extra fee, so there is still time to order a shirt to wear to the Rowbbbq!!!

The white shirts are mens plain white tees..

And the black shirts are women’s black v-neck. CafePress has a lot of options for shirts in different colors that we can use. I chose these two so people can get a standardized view of the individual designs.

You're voting for the LOGO

NOT the shirt color. If you like a logo but it’s on a white shirt, that’s ok….you can put the logo on what ever color shirt you want too.

(Unless I’m wrong)

You are correct sir..

After I emailed the shirt company, they told me white colors CAN be printed on black shirts.

Ah

That’s good to know. They need to update their submission guidelines pronto. Thanks for checking on that!

So. When is enough enough?

So then...

Wouldn’t that make #3 and #7 the same?

What about purple shirts?

I think a purple shirt is part of the whole relevance.
Ummm….did that make sense?

Purple?

purple shirts add to the relevance to the site. Purple Row. I’d like to see purple shirts if possible. Or am I waaaaaay off and the only one who feels like this?

I voted for my favorite

But my question is this. Do we have to have a “winner”? There are actually at least 3 designs here that I’d love to own. Can we have more than one option? I realize that you can upload your own images, but if other folks are like me, they might like have more than one choice.

So. When is enough enough?

by rockhead on Jun 5, 2009 5:46 PM MDT reply actions

I'm thinking it would be easiest to have one Purple Row store at Cafe Press with one point person.

That person could then take requests as needed and add additional designs and/or products to the store. This way we’d have all money going to one store. And since there is a small amount of profit depending on how much gets purchased, that way the money could go to some charity of our choice.

by holly96 on Jun 5, 2009 5:49 PM MDT up reply actions

If you're willing.

I think it would be easier. I’ve never actually been in charge of one myself, but in another fandom I was in we had one main Cafe Press store (there were subsections, be we probably wouldn’t need that) where all the various designs and products went. That way one person was in charge of monitoring the income. Of course in that instance our main purpose was to raise money, which is secondary in our case, but it’d be nice to be able to donate any profit if we get if. And if people are going to be uploading other designs and buying things other than whatever we choose anyway, it might as well all be in one place. You could always start turning people down if there got to be too many specific demands for adding designs/products. Since I’ve never done it myself I don’t know how easy it is or isn’t.

by holly96 on Jun 5, 2009 10:07 PM MDT up reply actions

OK Holly...

I setup the storefront at Cafe Press under the name PurpleRowCares. Here is the link.

I figure we can see how much we earn off of it, and then every month or so have a fanpost where we vote for the charity we would like the money to go to. How does that sound to everyone? So far I only uploaded #7 but it can be ordered in different styles and colors, so check it out! I work tomorrow in about 5 hours, so I should go to bed and then I will upload others over the weekend.

Done.

Though my modem died on Thursday and I had to order a new one (which I won’t get until Tuesday). I’m leeching off someone else’s wireless, but it’s a low signal so my internet reliability is spotty at best until I get to work on Monday.

by holly96 on Jun 7, 2009 3:05 AM MDT up reply actions

Sounds like a good deal of work

I didn’t mean to cause a ruckus about this. I gather from your other posts that you have kids, and a life outside of the Row. If it’s too big of a hassle, let’s just skip the “more than one option” option.

I will volunteer to help you in anyway I can if the “storefront” idea is one that other members of the Row want to pursue. And many, many, many thanks for leading us this far in the process.

I think most folks liked just the +1

I was thinking “Rowbots” across the back if we were going to do the jersey style.

Just the +1 is cool with me. What did everyone else think?

maybe you could have an option of whether you want +1 or nothing on the back, if that’s not too much trouble.

Maybe it's just my broke college student persona...

but aren’t these shirts a little…pricey?

I was expecting something like $15 or something. However, I do enjoy the selection you’ve provided and probably buy one of these expensive shirts. I’ll use my $0 salary for writing here to pay for it.

Did you spend all your Krona in Europe?

The shirts are priced competitively compared to other “custom design” stores online. While it’s priced higher than Wal-Mart, the price is about the same as you would pay at MLB.com.

There's the "Value T-Shirt"

Never forget the “Value T-Shirt”

But these are sweet. I’ll probably pick one up if the purple row itself makes an appearance.

$11.69 for the Value T-shirt..

And there are a lot of options for around $19, most of the white shirts at least.

Befizzle, which shirt are you looking for? Or is it one that we don’t have yet? If you can describe it maybe one of us can design it.

Purple Row history..

I was doing a google search this morning to see if the t-shirt’s site showed up and this link popped up from Purple Row circa April 2007 about t-shirts. It’s interesting and the discussion on the link was around Holliday, A’s, and messages from the FO. It’s interesting how history repeats itself sometimes, oh and BTW, how’s that t-shirt design from two years ago coming Oo_Nrb?

Any chance that the original images can stored on a site somewhere for download? I’m planning a different design and requested the images from the artists, but haven’t gotten a response yet. That’s cool, as I understand that they have a life … but if the images were in a central location, they wouldn’t have to respond to multiple request, and there also wouldn’t be a problem with the response emails being marked as spam and such.

I’m trying to get the shirt created and ordered in time for my father’s day present (from my daughter to me :)

No problem!

For everyone else, I’ll be adding some basics (like coffee mugs) but if there’s anything else you want, let me know. I’ve purchased a number of products through Cafe Press in the past, including a mouse pad, a spiral notebook, a tank top (for the ladies), a ceramic hot pad, a small box w/inlaid top, even a teddy bear wearing a t-shirt (it’s a long story). I’m not going to go quite that crazy here, though, unless I know people want something specific, so if you have any requests, let me know.

I should have a few of the basic products added by tomorrow night.

Is it me or

are the logos rather small on some of these? Will it be larger on the actual shirt? Or is that the style it’s supposed to be?

by PioneerSkies on Jun 9, 2009 10:11 AM MDT reply actions

Hmmm.

Charlie has uploaded the designs, so I’m not really up to speed on that part of it. I would say from those links, the t-shirt seems okay (though could certainly be larger), but the one on the sweatshirt is definitely really small.

Charlie, is there a way to make them bigger? Or does the size depend on the size of the file Cafe Press has?

by holly96 on Jun 9, 2009 11:44 AM MDT up reply actions

There is an option on Cafe Press to change the size..

However the sweatshirt is already as large as can be made. I wonder though, the file can be up to 10" wide and I only have it set to 7". So I will try and update it before I go on vacation Wednesday.

One other thing I have noticed is that the free account we are using through Cafe Press only allows one design per shirt style. So if someone wants to mix things up they will need to email us and Holly or I will have to switch the design first.
