This is the article I wanted to see. Clear up the OF, call back up Murton, CarGon needs to start Raking.

Hawpe
If the Rockies trade Hawpe to make room in the OF, do you think the fans bring pitchforks or torches to the stadium first?
I say torches, they’re easier to hide as you come through the gates.
Although I could be wrong, maybe just nobody would ever come to the stadium anymore.
Do they care enough?
I think you’re probably right that some would just stay home. The Rockies would have to sell the athleticism of the remaining OF. If the players come through, it could be exciting to watch.
Fans and Torches?
The team would welcome both because one is a paying customer and the other lights the field in lieu of using any electricity? Was that the FO’s plan this whole time? As long as its for the environment.

IF...
I lived a bit closer, I’d be all for going to see…
Smith, Dex & CarGon in the outfield,
Helton, EY2, Tulo & Stewart around the horn, and
Doom behind the dish w/ Uball on the mound
TGFPR!!
Oh hell yes.
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! HOW can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!
That's the line up
I’d be happy to see Barmes at SS while Tulo takes either a refresher in the minors or on the DL for a few weeks.
It’s about getting the players ready for 2010
Exactly
Plus – it allows us to be more favorable to making deals where we don’t need to get back MLB ready talent.
Even on the pitching side we have enough (aside from any injuries) to get us through the season to where we could take back AAA or AA prospects that could be ready in 2010-11.
Hopefully, Atkins power surge last night is the start of something new and he can recoup some value. Here’s a thought – why don’t the Cards reunite him with Matty. This could be a huge plus for all players/teams involved.
TGFPR!!
If Spilly's on the bench, I am all 110% for that lineup
Who would we get if Spilly is indeed traded to the Braves?
ok, I realized that's misleading
I love that lineup anyway, it’s just that if Spilly’s not there, I’m not going to be a happy camper.
Neyer isn't reporting interest
Just throwing the idea out there.
Kudos for linking to Tracy’s new site, though.
CarGo
They simply have to bring the kid up. One thing I’ve noticed about Tracy is that he doesn’t seem to care about making the players mad. I’m not saying that he’s the guy for the job after this season, but you have to be willing to play the best lineup possible if you’re a manager. Hurt feelings can’t get in your way. Gonzalez has been tearing it up, and the article in the Post last week sounded to me like the club was fishing for excuses as to why the kid wasn’t up. If he’s one of the 3 best outfielders on the squad, then he should play. He had to come up with the way that he was dominating down on the farm.

ST. LOUIS — Jim Tracy wasn’t kidding about finding playing time for prospect Carlos Gonzalez. The kid will make his Rockies’ debut tonight, starting in left field against the Cardinals. Gonzalez’s arrival jumbles the outfield and will create trade interest. Ryan Spilborghs could be the odd man out. The Red Sox have interest in Spilborghs, but nothing is brewing as of yet. The Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay also continue to troll for outfield help.
Matt Murton status: Prisoner Exchanged for Fredo
Chris Iannetta status: Mashing AAA
Seth Smith status: Badass
Mike McCoy status: FREE MIKE MCCOY
Dan has an opportunity to do some good here in the next few months
Hopefully he can get some high upside, hard signing players in the draft and free up some cash for them by moving Hawpe and Spilly (and maybe Atkins)
I want a Spilborghs jersey
if they trade him I don’t know if I’ll be able to get one. In conclusion, he shouldn’t be traded. Also, why are these stupid jerseys like 200 bucks?
Because folks will pay that. Wait until he's traded and you can probably get it cheaper.
Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field?
