Nothing serious on the line anymore.

I have weird thyroid issues, but earlier this Summer they confirmed it wasn’t cancer. So there’s nothing big on the line short of seeing if my current thyroid meds are the right dosage.

They might.

It remains to be seen. But if he doesn’t have surgery, even if he doesn’t come back this season, it means he might be healthy for 2010.

by Greg Stanwood on Jul 1, 2009 12:32 PM MDT up reply actions

I don't know if I'd take this as good news...

If surgery’s more or less inevitable down the road, it would be best to get it over and done with, I would think. Otherwise you get a situation that drags out like we had with Francis and Buchholz to some extent.

I can't say enough how much I want the Rockies to do well today

This one if for my wife, my pook pook…every time the Rox win, she seems to do just a little bit better.

Kruk, I feel a bit guilty even posting here today, but I’m right by her side and not going anywhere.

I get the feeling they’re trying hard to trade him.

It would seem so. I wonder how long before MLB is going require them to make a decision. It's not like he's injured.

I get that feeling as well

if they really felt he was better than Phillips he’d have been back a long time ago

by Redhawk on Jul 1, 2009 12:52 PM MDT up reply actions

I feel bad for him.

I’m not going to dispute that a trade might be in the team’s best interest, but you have to wonder if this would even be happening if his son hadn’t been kidnapped.

by holly96 on Jul 1, 2009 12:55 PM MDT up reply actions

It wouldn't have.

Phillips would have been displaced for Iannetta.

by Greg Stanwood on Jul 1, 2009 12:56 PM MDT up reply actions

Definitely feel bad for him

It’s bad enough to lose your job because of injury, but lose it because your kid is kidnapped? Brutal.

Hopefully if he gets traded he’ll get more play time. I’m sure he hates riding the pine five games a week.

by Greg Stanwood on Jul 1, 2009 12:58 PM MDT up reply actions

I think they would still be trying to trade him.

But to your point, over the past 4 weeks they’ve found a low cost alternative in Phillips.

Dang

Dodgers only scored in 3 of 30 innings in this series, yet Rockies only took one game. Then again, we only scored in 3 of 31 innings. Not fatal, but frustrating.

I hate to say it...

…but I called this series result in the poll…
…oh, well, at least we can completely forget about worrying about the Dodgers…they can’t be caught now…

by Chrysicat on Jul 1, 2009 3:41 PM MDT reply actions

Yes they can

We still play them 6 more times, and their schedule is more difficult too. We have time and talent. Great series.

A 5-4 roadtrip

That’s solid, but…I’m trying to look at the bright side but it still feels like a missed opportunity right now.

by fatheadX on Jul 1, 2009 3:46 PM MDT reply actions

The really sad thing is how close it was to an 8-1 road trip.

honestly, with the teams we're playing

i think 6-4 is unacceptable, 7-3 ok, but 8-2 or better should be expected
