Where real fans sit

I was at the Braves game tonight with a friend who also really likes the Rox and talking baseball. Around the 5th inning a couple guys came and sat behind us and had an interesting conversation. these are the real words I kid you not.

"Man we got here at just the right time Jennings is pitching into the 5th and we missed all the boring baseball"

I looked at my friend and rolled my eyes. later in the game their conversaation continued

"this is where the real fans sit you can see the whole field from here. Hey what does the purple row mean?"

I wanted to scream sometimes I really am annoyed by  bandwagon fans

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

a Broncos or Nuggets jersey?

Recently, I've heard people ask whether Holliday was getting the day off from the lineup, but Jennings?!

Did they stay for the delay?

What makes me sick the most is when couples and/or friends come to the game, and then just continue to drink/talk/gossip and never even make an attempt to notice the game. Go to a bar, why don’t cha?

Yeah I was around a couple people like you were mentioning...

basically only cared about drinking, getting up constantly, and finally just going to the bar. I don’t see the point…I mean, it’s a free country, people can do what they want I guess. However, if I just wanted to drink I wouldn’t spend money on baseball tickets to do so.

no they were not there after the delay

I think the y must of spent a total of 30 minutes there. Funny

I'm guessing those were out-of-towners.

Probably Yankees or Red Sox fans.

I actually own a Montreal away jersey

Back when Vlad was patrolling right, Marquis Grissom in CF, Rondell White in LF. That was some outfield. Fun to watch when they were actually worth watching. Sidenote: I have long believed that the Expos probably would have won the Series in 94 if not for the strike. They were 34 games above .500 when the season got canned. I wonder if a playoff run and Series win would have saved the team in Montreal? Guess we’ll never know.

You would have laughed even more

If it had been Natinals gear, no?

nationals stuff has become a commodity. i see so many dudes wear nationals stuff to be “gangsta”

by skaistda on Jul 11, 2009 5:11 AM MDT reply actions   0 recs

I thought

“Natinals” gear would be considered gangsta.

In DC,

Rockies gear is gangsta. Purple and black or purple and something must be affiliated with a “street gentleman’s association.” Is this the case in other cities?

I'm the one

I’m the one that was at the game with Rockies Dave… We had moved up into the rafters to get out of the rain were only the second set of people that were that annoying. I’m pretty sure in both seats we sat in we were the only people watching the game. Gotta really love those"baseball" fans.

At least they're rooting for the rockies

I sat in 141 last night, I was absolutely surrounded by Braves fans….I don’t know if they just sell that area to visitor fans or what but it was so obnoxious I went to join my friends in the upper deck even though my tickets were in row 7 because i couldn’t enjoy the game….I can’t stand loud opposing fans in coors field….when I’m in dodger stadium or wherever I show my colors, but I don’t scream “yeah you suck” when a dodger flies out.

I was in 141, too

It’s mostly a section for season tickets for sponsors and all those important people, so I was surprised at that many Braves fans, even though it is the third base line.

There was a handful of Braves fans sitting behind me.

What bugged me is that every time there was a chance for the SS, they would yell “ESCOBAR’S GOT THAT!” or “NICE PLAY YUNEL!” In fact, Diory Hernandez played SS the entire game. It’s cool if you wanna root for your team, but come on, pay attention!

Yeah, the Braves fans were problematic

Way too many damn Chipper shirts, not to mention way too much damn cheering when Barmes struck out to end the game.

I love Greg Reynolds. Deal with it, suckers.

Last night

one of my friends was sitting two rows behind me. At one point he asked me if Marquis would be starting the next game. I told him yes and that Hammel was slated for Sunday. Out of nowhere, a girl sitting a few seats away exclaims, “and that’s another one that’s married!” It took every I had not to burst out laughing.

If only baseball fans attended baseball games

and beer sales were prohibited, the total yearly attendance for MLB would be about 700,000.

I actually don’t mind these poor souls who don’t know what’s going on down on the field. They only time they annoy me is when they interefere with my watching of the game.

Right...
They only time they annoy me is when they interefere with my watching of the game.

Unfortunately this happens far too often. “Oh, I know the game is going on right now but I absolutely have to have some nachos and another beer! And when I come back I won’t have the courtesy to wait for a break in the action to get back to my seat!”

Cmon...

Nothing wrong with enjoying an adult beverage whilst taking in 9 innings.

The few ruin it for the many, right?

My favorite bandwagon fan moment ...

was during the play-in game in 2007. This was game #163 and two guys behind me were annoying me already when one said “Who is this Tulowitzki guy? Why isn’t Barmes playing shortstop?”. His friend couldn’t answer him.
