What was the article

that a pitching coach said the bullpen is Morales destiny? I can kind of see that now. If he sticks he will be quite the weapon in the seventh or eighth.

I really like the idea of Morales coming into face a lefty in the 6th or 7th

then having him pitch to the 8th with that stamina, it’s a great ability to have, to throw multiple innings in the pen

I dont know baseball that well

I just thought whoever gives the most dominate pitching gets the win?

by GoldenNugget on Jul 17, 2009 10:45 PM MDT up reply actions

No.

First, you have to go at least 5 innings. Second, your team has to be ahead when you leave and stay ahead. If the other team ties it after a starter leaves, he won’t get the win, even if his team eventually wins.

by holly96 on Jul 17, 2009 10:47 PM MDT up reply actions

You're welcome.

By the by, the rules are slightly different if a reliever is getting the win. They obviously don’t have to go 5 innings.

Also, a starter can get a loss no matter how long he’s in the game, even if it’s just an inning.
