Jason Marquis and Brad Hawpe named NL All Stars
Two Colorado Rockies veterans have a shiny new label they can add to their resumes, as both outfielder Brad Hawpe and pitcher Jason Marquis were named to the National League All Star team, the first time either has been so honored. Hawpe leads the Rockies in most offensive categories this season with his .331/.403/.596 line, 26 doubles, 13 home runs and 56 RBI. Marquis was the NL's first ten game winner of 2009 and has been a stable force in Colorado's rotation with his more confident sinker.
Congratulations Brad and Jason! Well deserved, and thank you for what you've brought to Rockies fans so far this season.

He's like a built in LOOGY that All-Star managers love
Since he’s also a closer and therefore it’s not going to be a big headscratcher for fans. Congrats Brian on his third appearance in the game, though. A few more and we might have to start wondering if he’s going to wear a Rockies cap a Cooperstown…
Anyone got a link to the complete list?

Reply fail.

Nope.
I think Street deserved a look, but I’m happy we got two players in. I was certain it’d just be Hawpe by his lonesome.

No pitchers on either final vote list
Looks like the fans only get to consider position players.
As much as I dislike the Giants, I had to vote for Pablo Sandoval for the final NL spot.

That's not always the case.
I’m 95% sure pitchers have been eligible for the final vote in the past.

Street's not completely out of it. There will usually be an injury withdrawal or two
From pitchers between now and then and I imagine Huston would be pretty close to the top of the list of potential replacements.
I would like to have seen Street make it
but at least Manny (Manuela) didn’t. That would have really ticked me off. Congrats to Hawpe and Marquis. Now let’s find a way to get some runs on the board against Dan Harin. Go Rox
What if the hokey pokey is what it is all about after all????
congrats guys!
you deserve it…Huston Street as well but hey can’t get them all.
we seem to have gotten over that HURDLE
Let's go Rox!
win this thing.

Charlie Manuel basically justified it
by saying “he’s my guy and I wanted to take him.”
Hard to argue with that kind of logic…
He's also tied for 3rd in RBI, and led in HR/RBI last year
and was MVP runner up, so I’m sure plenty still see him as a top 1B

Keith Law's not one of them,
Pedroia won the MVP last year and was a top-5 player in the league. I have no problem with him making it. Howard, OTOH, is a bad joke.
Uh, well sure

Congrats to
BradHawpe and Jason Marquis.
Notably, Matt Holiday didn’t make the AL squad.
