It was a couple nights before my wedding.

We had the wedding planner bring in flat screens for the reception so we could watch the NLDS :)

I love how the end of this thread has become the SD/SF game thread.

And there is still what…79 games left? Love the mid-season intensity. It is a new sensation for me being a Rockies fan, but I could get used to it.

Tracy is talking about Atkins in the presser.

Praising him for his attitude in coming off the bench. I’m starting to really like Tracy, both in the dugout and in the media.

by EricMedic on Jul 9, 2009 10:06 PM MDT reply actions

This

I never liked his managing, but that’s partly because I hate hate hate the Dodgers. I’m starting to think DOD really made the right call here. And it’s clear the players enjoy playing for him and play damn hard for him.

I give the credit to Clint Hurdle here

If it weren’t for Hurdle wanting Tracy on his staff in the first place he would not be our manager now. Thanks for everything Clint

Yup, and we have to keep remembering that when we hit the inevitable 2-3 game scuffles

No we we play .711 ball all season long, but I’m confident this team will never phone it in.

but not by much. He’s surprised everybody. Early call, but manager of the year?

Not Girardi

AL has their own Manager of the Year award

Has to be Torre or Tracy right now.

I'd normally agree, but if the Dodgers keep winning at this pace

Hard not to give it to Torre if they win 105 games

by Junction Rox on Jul 9, 2009 10:15 PM MDT up reply actions

I agree and disagree with this statement

I Go to Colorado School of Mines so I have to disagree but when a player comes from a DII school that we play that is cool.

I feel odd ties to all Colorado colleges

with friends or family that went to many or maybe even most of them, so I don’t pick up on their rivalries. It never occurred to me until just now that Mesa State and Mines would be rivals, but it makes sense.

by Rox Girl on Jul 9, 2009 10:21 PM MDT up reply actions

Last year

Our starting Safety was the brother of Mesa’s starting QB. That was quite interesting to watch, and I’m curious to know what happened when he got the sack.
