Popping before going to pick up my car....

Good luck boys, tonight ensures no worse than a .500 road trip.

Of course we want better. But one foot in front of the other.

Oh, and LOL at Taveras’ .273 OBP…but sad he’s back on the DL….

the boy is clearly cheating

he already has three yellow counters to the girl’s two, and he’s putting a fourth in FTW. Connect 2 doesn’t need this kind of press.

My question is this

not so much “why were they playing?” (it really is a great game. go for the triple lindy, you always win), but “why did they have it there in the clubhouse?”

What a strange thing to report

Seems like Rockies People magazine. OMG, de la Rosa puts his left sock and shoe on BEFORE going to his right sock and shoe before a game!

It is silly, but it also made me laugh, so it was successful.

It wasn’t so much of a “this is what the players do pre-game” expose.

I know. It made me laugh for roughly the same reason

I loved that Renck was pretending it was relevant info for Marquis' pre-start preparadness.

Astros are done for the year & started a AAA pitcher against the Fish.

2-0 in the 1st & they’re pounding him.

The Marlins are a big wildcard threat, particularly w/ the Mets team missing & the Braves possibly out of it soon, plus the Nats in their division

No records in the last 10 years should count.

Braves are still hungry,

But the Marlins are a threat, yes.

Well this is some kind of game

we need the win with Florida already up 2-0 in the first and SF playing Cinci.

but the d-backs have a run!

would be awesome to see a non-shutout no hitter

LA Dodgers – LA Angels one team LOST the no hitter they threw (not just one pitcher)

Jered Weaver and Arrendondo; but they don’t get credit in the record books for it

Does it seem like the playoff pressure is getting to this team a little?

It seems like everyone has been trying to do too much since about Friday.

I think the playoff pressure is getting

to the game thread…we are pretty harsh today…

by SDcat09 on Aug 19, 2009 6:26 PM MDT up reply actions

I don't think so

This game goes in waves. It has its natural ebbs and flows. They were in playoff position long before Friday

Plus, we're 2-2 since Friday on the road

and winning game 5. Winning games on the road against a couple hot teams when you’re not playing your best is pretty commendable.

I think you might be reading too much into a couple of isolated struggles.

Despite being mostly on the road in pitchers parks, the Rockies have the NL’s fourth best wOBA over the last seven days according to FanGraphs.

Huh.

I had been conflating this park with RFK as well. Well! I stand corrected.

You barely beat me

but it’s a pretty weak hitters’ park. So three hitters’ park games, three pitchers’ parks
