I’m actually pretty confident in the Rockies making the playoffs. Actually if I was close to Vegas, I’d put money on the Rox winning the West (if that was a bet)
Baseball Prospectus has us at 65% playoffs.
Including an 11% chance to win the division. That’ll obviously go down after today though.

they didn’t get home all that much before that…about 7:30 or 8 Mountain time…

It could have, indirectly.
When you have problems with your feet, it affects your posture, especially when you do complex movements like pitching deliveries. The inconsistency of his trying to shift his weight around, and then correct it after the toe improvement, could easily have caused an arm injury.

I don’t care about lefty splits anymore, Gonzalez should play everyday and Spilborghs should be a 5th guy getting barely any starts.

I've hated the idea
I’m really wishing we had traded Spilly right now. I agree with RedHawk, the Iannetta/Torrealba and Atkins/Stew platoons make sense (if Atkins only plays against lefties). Besides that, we should putting out the same damn lineup everyday. I feel bad for Smith for leaving him out, but Fowler and CarGo out play him and Hawpe isn’t leaving for some stupid reason.

I just meant as a general statement, I think people look to consistent playing time too much as an answer to consistent play. That said, I’m not arguing there should be any reason to toss worse players in the lineup on a whim.

we just got screwed by that call
i thought they flashed the rule last time about if a batter is hit and not awarded 1st base the runners are not allowed to advance.. i think we got screwed on that rule twice
what was the call?

im not really sure if he made much of a call
but velez (i think) had a pretty substantial check swing, and the ball hit off his foot then off ianetta and to the backstop. velez ran to first, and the home plate ump never really made a call. i dont think he asked for help from 3rd base ump on check swing, and he didnt signal anything about hitting his foot. definitely a more awkward play than what game tracker made it out to be
