The New Jimenez Nickname Contest
Everyone wants Jimenez, who has arrived among the elite of major league power pitchers, to get a nickname. Fox is using "K-Baldo" today which is lame, IMO. Do you have a better one? I do. Read it after the jump, and then chime in with your own. I think mine will stick, but I'm all ears.....
My new nickname is "The Big Uball". Get it? Instead of The Big Unit, another great power pitcher, we make a similar nickname that plays off his first name, and has "ball" in it. As in baseball. I think it's pretty good.
If you have one better, have at it.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

"K-Baldo"?
Seriously? Big Uball is good, though I think that “U-Ball” will probably end up sticking no matter what.
I suppose he could be the new “Franchise” :) .

Sorry
Both of those are lame. U-Bal is fine with me.

If I'm not mistaken
jim Tracy said this game was the Freak (Timmy) vs. the Cheek (Ubaldo). I don’t know if this is correct or if I like it but it might be worth considering.

It's the Chief.
Tracy’s been calling him that for awhile after a character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

oohh, if Jim Tracy and Ubalda Jimenez could play a game of “would you please stop calling me chief,” that would be awesome.

I like calling Ubaldo how ESPN pronounces his last name

if you're reading this, it means my undying support for your team will result in its failure.

Yep.
I’m good with U-ball.

It's not like anyone else uses it...in the MLB
and I think he is achieving a status that permits the first name usage alone..
just a thought

Nene isn't his given name. It's his nickname.
His name is Maybyner

That was his birth name until 2003
He legally changed it to Nene Hilario in 2003 :) And he goes by Nene…per himself and well everyone else..

That's what my dad calls him
But he says it more like there’s a hyphen in it, as in U-K.

How about Bernard?
Or Samantha? Those seem like good nicknames. Eric?

Mt. Ubaldo
Or Mt. Jimenez or Mt. Baldo or Mt. Uball or something along those lines. He’s tall like a mountain. The mound is nothing but a small mountain. Our team is named after a mountain range, for crying out loud.

Or Baldo?

I like it
“Workhorse” or simply “stud” come to mind as well. Boring, perhaps, but there’s no doubt it’s the truth.

Murdertrain
The Rockies need some oldschool purple/white striped high socks. The team’s problem is it’s lack of swagger. I feel strongly that these socks will provide the swagger necessary to tap the potential that are the Rockies.
