Clint Hurdle to return to Coors Field
Former manager Clint Hurdle joined Susie Wargin on 9NEWS on Monday morning to talk about his continuing efforts against Prader-Willi syndrome. He also spent some time talking about the 2009 team.
After watching the interview, it just reminded me what a classy guy he is. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Jim Tracy is managing the team now, he's doing a great job. I just think Hurdle has been very noble and professional throughout the whole thing. He plans to return to the ballpark on Sept. 21 for a Prader-Willi event.

"I'm a huge fan. There's no getting away from that. What a wonderful series we've been able to have so far with the Giants, it'd be nice to put the finishing touches on them tonight," Hurdle said. "But I have not been back. I've been waiting for the kids to say, 'Dad, let's go to a game.' That hasn't happened yet. We have really good seats in our living room."
There's also an opportunity to buy a seat to the tribute event honoring Clint.

He's a pro
Hurdle may have worn out his welcome as manager (who besides Casey Stengel, Walter Alston and Connie Mack haven’t?), but I have seen Hurdle on MLB and he never displays a trace of cynicism or hostility toward the Rox when asked to analyze their players or their chances. In fact, he’s very complimentary. I would imagine he would get another shot at a top job or at least a bench coach position somewhere in the bigs.

Hear Hear!
Hurdle is a total class act. While I’m glad I don’t get to watch his “cool” post game interview stylings anymore, I hope fans always remember him as the manager who pushed all the right buttons in ’07, just as Tracy seems to be doing now.
I don’t think the disastrous start this year should be put on him at all, just as Tracy doesn’t deserve all the credit for the turnaround— it was just time for a fresh outlook (okay, maybe a little past time, but it’s all good).
Thanks, Clint. You stay classy now.

If only he hadn't bunted so much.
And a few other things as well I guess.
I will always hold him in high regard, and I don’t think there was a better manager for the team in his early years when the talent was developed.

This.
He was probably the perfect manager for us during, say, 2004-2006.

Hurdle is a great character. He'd be an even better one if he was a very good manager.
But no-one’s perfect
