Spilly is good against lefties, and Smith really doesn’t see them that much anyways. I was about to ask where Atkins was since a lefty (Zito) was pitching, but then I remembered that Marquis was starting, so we wanted the best defense.

I'm not that convinced about Zito being good
his last three starts have been against the Reds twice, and the Mets, his past 7 starts (since his last bad start), his victims have been the weak offenses of the Pirates and Braves. His only good opponent was the Phillies, who he threw a QS against, but now he has to pitch in Coors (throwing off his mental game if he listens to Timmay :P), and against another real offense. The goal today: lay OFF the curveball, make him work a lot, since he hasn’t gone 7 since July 23, and make him walk people, because his success is dependent on that lately. I’m thinking 100 pitches by the end of the 6th is reasonable, and I hope we tag 3 runs by then, which should be reasonable enough for our offense and for Marquis to win this game.
How about?
Our offense scores 10 runs in the first 3 innings, not have to use Street, and puts a stake thru the 09 Giants?

For some reason, I’m expecting really good things out of Marquis today, because he finally got the GO/FO ratio back to insanely good levels (he was getting around equal before that), and that the Giants offense if well, for lack of better words, awful.

They got their runs off an injured Cook, Fogg, DLR, Daley, and Herges
Currently, Marquis is better than all of them (Cook was injured during that start, noramlly he’s better), though DLR can be better at times.

A bit off topic, but...
I was looking at the Sky Sox box score just now and noticed EY2 was playing CF. He also played there yesterday. I know there was talk about him moving to the OF, but didn’t if it actually ever happened. Has he been playing there regularly and if/when he is called up, is that where we should expect him to be used(assuming he were to ever be used for anything more than pinch running/hitting)?
