Giants were two swings from getting sweeped against Arizona

Arizona was 4-5 with 2 men on base in top 9th (two out) and were leading 3-1 in bottom of 8th in the second game.. both times Giants scored 3 runs in 8th inning (clutch HRs)

Great play by Rohlinger.

Good effort from Stewart to break up 2. He might have been safe if he held on to the base though.

Last 4 game losing streak

ended with the last game of the Houston series in early June. Followed by an 11 game winning streak.

Thanks.

I do feel a win streak coming on… based on nothing, of course, except for the fact that this offense’s patches of ineptitude don’t usually last more than a few days.

I wish Barmes pulled that, because if he catches up to that ball it's gone

but that’s why you make guys who throw upper 90’s heat the closer.

Brian Wilson gets such a bullcrap strike zone

That was a 3-0 flyout. Except ball 2 and 3 were called strikes despite both being off of the plate.

I hate Brian Wilson

Awful strike calls.

Why can’t umpires be more consistent?

Granted

But it was still a flyout.

I'll have another beer, please.

you swing at garbage to protect on 1-2

When that should’ve been at LEAST 2-1, more accurately 3-0

First pitch touched the black IMO..

The second pitch wasn’t close.

If it's 3-0

Barmes most likely walks and Tulo gets a bases loaded chance. Yeah, those called totally changed the game, there isn’t much you can do down 1-2 with a guy with amazing stuff on the mound, but lets not blame the game on the ump. EY2 was awful today, Marquis was being smacked around, and we had hits before the 9th inning. This was a momentum loss.

4-3 loss vs. 5-3 loss...

We woulda won this game HAD we just walked Fat Pablo every time he went up to bat. Instead, he went like 3-3 or something.

We woulda had much better winning chances that way. Oh well, there’s always a 2moro

This reminds of me of the Josh Johnson loss

except Hammel is pitching tomorrow, and he’s on the road so he’ll pitch like an ace :P

by bballrox4717 on Aug 29, 2009 9:46 PM MDT reply actions

But yeah, we have momentum

and they should be pissed because of the bad zone and the past losses. Maybe we need something else to piss them off….HEY KRUK! Make fun of the Rockies so we can be motivated! :P

Hammel vs. Cain

Seems like SUCH a winnable matchup. Trying not to be sarcastic. If we score more than 4-5 runs, we’ll be fine. Of course, we’d have to carry over the stuff from the 9th inning

Hopefully the offensive turnaround in the ninth carries over…

We have to win tomorrow

I don’t wanna have to make the Mets series a must-win, bcuz it should be the series to wind down over a tough 10-game stretch. So far, we are 4-5
