I wonder what casual area non-fans would think of national love for Dan O'Clown

o’dowd has been downright brilliant with the money he’s allowed to spend. took a few years for him to figure it out, but he’s definitely on track now.

After the year O'Dowd has put together,

letting him walk would be a huge mistake. Like not drafting Lincecum huge (tongue firmly in cheek there). So far this year he’s given us our winningest pitcher, our nearly perfect closer, two new bullpen pillars, and an outfield bat that’s something like 9 for his last 15. I’ve doubted O’Dowd before (especially after the Towers debacle), but he’s got the hot hand right now and needs to stay in the organization.

Towers debacle?

What was that?

O’D had a rough start but has seemed pretty consistent since at least 2004, when they decided to get rid of Walker and completely rebuild. Perhaps he’s gotten lucky in that so many of the young players has turned out, but he’s done a consistent job of complementing them without having to trade any of the youngters. This season’s bullpen is a failure in this regard, but he seems to have done a fair job patching it for the stretch run.

Leave Dexter alone! You're lucky he even performs for you!

Matzak

If he can get Matzak to sign he definately deserves a deal himself.

What if he signs Matzek instead? ;)
