Thursday Pebble Report: Despite seven errors, Casper wins on walkoff single
Modesto, W 5-3
Cory Riordan turned in a solid start by pitching 7 2/3 innings, allowing all three runs, an striking out seven. He had a 12-6 GO-FO. Craig Baker picked up the save by pitching a scoreless ninth.
Hector Gomez hits a two-run homer in the first inning, and Charlie Blackmon went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Nuts are up 1-0 in this best-of-three series.
Asheville was rained out.
Tri-City, L 0-7
Dan Perkins couldn't make it out of the third inning, allowing five runs while he was in the game and watching two more score when Eric Federico inherited his baserunners. Other than that, the pitching was pretty good. Federico, having allowed two inherited runs, went three innings and struck out two. Aaron Weatherford struck out four in his inning of work.
Tri-City is one game away from losing the NWL Championship.
Despite seven errors on their part, Casper won the game in the bottom of the ninth on a Jared Clark RBI single. David Kandilas also had a breakout game of sorts, hitting two triples and driving in three.

IIRC, the D-Backs committed 10 or 11 errors
in an ST game against us a few years back.
