Maybe the Rox can at least do something that will benefit them tomorrow.

The good news is...
After tomorrow the Rockies don’t have to play the Giants any more…and it seems like the Rockies win when they aren’t playing the Giants and the Giants lose when they aren’t playing the Rockies…hopefully that trend continues.

So the Rockies are complacent only
when they play the Giants, and the Giants are more determined only when they play the Rockies?

Team X is more determined than Team Y. Team Y is complacent. Team Y wins when they aren’t playing Team X, but loses when playing Team X. Team X loses to any team but Team Y.

Honestly...
a little of both…
Atkins, Iannetta, Stewart, Barmes have all failed this year…they have either regressed or not improved.
The positives-
Tulo turned it around, Gonzalez figured it out….I would argue that Gonzalez, being a potential five tool player, was going to figure it out, and Tulo is notorious for starting slow.

Oh, wait. I’m kinda feeling the same way.
our defense is terrible with Atkins
and EY is slow with the turn. I’m thinking we should just stick with Stew and Barmy.

Apologizing in advance if this was discussed while I was away but
why wasn’t Fogg brought in in the 3rd? Guess he’s not really our long guy, huh?

Probably trying to fake out Bochy – everyone (like us, and the rest of the baseball world) might have expected that, so Tracy’s trying to mix things up.
Not that it worked in the slightest, but whatever. You don’t learn anything if you keep going in the usual direction.

After the current series,
Assuming that we are sweeped,
Even by Conservative estimate, we will have to go 4-2 against STL and MIL, 4-2 against AZ and SD and 1-2 against LAD to win 91 games ..
SF 1-2 against LAD, 2-1 at AZ, 3-1 vs cubs, 3-0 vs AZ, 2-1 at SD means 5 losses for Giants.. and they will also have 91 wins..
Florida, 0-1 against STL, 3-1 at CIN, 2-1 vs PHI, 3-0 NYM, 1-2 at ATL, 2-1 AT phi means 6 losses for Florida and 89 wins
ATL, 2-0 against NYM, 2-1 VS phi, 2-1 at NYM, 3-0 AT WSH, 2-1 vs FL, 3-1 vs WSH giving Atlanta 90 wins
That looks pretty good...
except getting four games from St. Louis and Milwaukee…I think 3 is more acurate…but I see your point.;

I'm not sure I'd give SF 3-1 vs Cubs or a sweep against AZ.
That and ATL could lose more than 1 in 6 games against the Nationals.
btw, Cubs are also 4 losses behind
but they are playing SF at the end of 17 game stretch without a single day break (Rockies complete their 16 game stretch tomorrow)..

Dex has been...
very disciplined at the plate tonight.
Not to mention great defense, for what it’s worth.
I agree, Dex had a fantastic game....
he needs to teach the other guys that patience…

Well, that was lousy
I’m intrigued to hear Tracy’s thoughts this eve.
I can't decide whether I'm hungry or just really tired.
He is part of the problem
he has benched Hawpe, Barmes, Stewart after taking over in May and giving these guys the jobs. His subsitutes save Young have not played well. You get to a big series like this and he benches guys. What’s the message
by PinchHitLancePainter on Sep 15, 2009 11:18 PM MDT up reply actions
Huh?
He has not benched Hawpe for any extended period of time. Days off or lineup moves only. Barmes he stuck with until this series…and Stewart was handed the job as soon as Tracy was hired. Only of late has Stewart not started.

Yep, today was the first day Hawpe hasn't started in a few games.
And Tracey had previously said Hawpe would get consecutive starts against the string of right handers. And Zito was the first lefty in a while.
well, that was not pleasantt

Not stupid, but ignorant.
We know these guys have hitting skill…but they’ve clearly forgotten how to best apply it.
Very few walks tonight, lots of poorly-chosen swings, and very little patience.
Other than Dex...he needs to give some instruction

it would be nice for the rox to actually put on a decent showing so we don’t have to hear Steve Phillips/Joe Morgan et al talk about how awesome the Giants are all bloody night (I mean, they will but a good showing might lessen the Giants love a smidge)…

Letting Dexter Fowler be the hitting coach.
He had it tonight when no one else did. Whatever he’s doing, it’s working.
I'm telling you, we need some stealth ninja style.
What exactly that means, I have no idea. But we need it.
So we need for the other team to not see us dressed in black pajamas? At this point I'd try that.

not naming any names
but tracy basically just threw Atkins under the bus — calling out his defensive miscue multiple times as the change maker in the game.
On the other hand, I could interpret that as throwing in the towel after one inning which I find pretty lame-o…
I can't decide whether I'm hungry or just really tired.
Atkins D was terrible tonight
What 3 mishandled balls… and that one in the first at least cost us 2 runs. I don’t think that the manager should throw anyone under the bus though, but his defense certainly was crap tonight
