The good news is...

After tomorrow the Rockies don’t have to play the Giants any more…and it seems like the Rockies win when they aren’t playing the Giants and the Giants lose when they aren’t playing the Rockies…hopefully that trend continues.

when they play the Giants, and the Giants are more determined only when they play the Rockies?

I just said that the Giants are in the Rockies heads…and that the Rockies underachieve when they play the Giants while the Giants overachieve when they play the Rox…am I not making sense? Seems pretty simple.

Shaq didn’t understand/follow much MLB going in…but at least he is honest about it and very respectful. He’s learning the game.

Honestly...

a little of both…
Atkins, Iannetta, Stewart, Barmes have all failed this year…they have either regressed or not improved.

The positives-
Tulo turned it around, Gonzalez figured it out….I would argue that Gonzalez, being a potential five tool player, was going to figure it out, and Tulo is notorious for starting slow.

After the current series,

Assuming that we are sweeped,

Even by Conservative estimate, we will have to go 4-2 against STL and MIL, 4-2 against AZ and SD and 1-2 against LAD to win 91 games ..

SF 1-2 against LAD, 2-1 at AZ, 3-1 vs cubs, 3-0 vs AZ, 2-1 at SD means 5 losses for Giants.. and they will also have 91 wins..

Florida, 0-1 against STL, 3-1 at CIN, 2-1 vs PHI, 3-0 NYM, 1-2 at ATL, 2-1 AT phi means 6 losses for Florida and 89 wins

ATL, 2-0 against NYM, 2-1 VS phi, 2-1 at NYM, 3-0 AT WSH, 2-1 vs FL, 3-1 vs WSH giving Atlanta 90 wins

Yep, today was the first day Hawpe hasn't started in a few games.

And Tracey had previously said Hawpe would get consecutive starts against the string of right handers. And Zito was the first lefty in a while.

well, that was not pleasantt

You hear that?

It’s our wild card lead, gently slipping away.

My kingdom for a base hit…

Not stupid, but ignorant.

We know these guys have hitting skill…but they’ve clearly forgotten how to best apply it.

Very few walks tonight, lots of poorly-chosen swings, and very little patience.

but these last two nail biters have really been hard to take.

Tonight was so bad

I actually laughed at this out loud

Let's not forget the big picture

Still lead the WC by 2 1/2. DLR pitches tomorrow. I think we’ll be 3 1/2 games ahead by EOB tomorrow night :)

ugh

it would be nice for the rox to actually put on a decent showing so we don’t have to hear Steve Phillips/Joe Morgan et al talk about how awesome the Giants are all bloody night (I mean, they will but a good showing might lessen the Giants love a smidge)…

I can't decide whether I'm hungry or just really tired.

Letting Dexter Fowler be the hitting coach.

He had it tonight when no one else did. Whatever he’s doing, it’s working.

So we need for the other team to not see us dressed in black pajamas? At this point I'd try that.

not naming any names

but tracy basically just threw Atkins under the bus — calling out his defensive miscue multiple times as the change maker in the game.

On the other hand, I could interpret that as throwing in the towel after one inning which I find pretty lame-o…

I can't decide whether I'm hungry or just really tired.

by WalkInRight on Sep 15, 2009 11:43 PM MDT reply actions

Atkins D was terrible tonight

What 3 mishandled balls… and that one in the first at least cost us 2 runs. I don’t think that the manager should throw anyone under the bus though, but his defense certainly was crap tonight
