At this point in the season,
reason definitely gets fuzzy. I think JDLR’s been great certainly for most of the season and most of his Rockies career, but given his history of meltdowns and mental lapses when games have been on the line, for him to come up with this gem when the Rockies season might not necessarily be on the line, but is certainly in need of an added push, well it’s just a phenomenal effort. This really will be the start of his I remember and write about in the future the most, I will tell you that.
Oh yes, I forgot about the insane amount of K's he used to rack up when he was inconsistent
But the effectiveness of his pitches has been incredible, and if he gets the shutout, then it’s automatically the best game of his career since he’s never done it before.

I am still nervous too.
I love the team, love to think they will hold on… but I don;t have the faith quite yet. Get that magic number down 5-6 more by the end of this weekend, and I will be more confident.

He doesn’t have to get the 420 ft. dingers all the time, sometimes a 130 ft. single will suffice.

More JDLR Lovefest stuff
one of the books on him was to create traffice as he pitches so much better out of the wind vs the stretch. You’ll notice his wind is slow and methodical as he reaches a balance point for a short front end opening. However there was always a big difference in his wind and stretch and he has really improve his stretch command this year.

I'm late, but yes the Rockies win! I never lost faith in Betancourt because he had pitched well and the runs were Barmes fault

and avoided posting (so as not to jinx them).. but when SF scored the first run, i couldn’t stand the suspense and switched on the ESPN to see the botched DP..

Morales was probably glad to have a bit of backup, too. The team has definitely acquired several key players this year in Huston Street, Carlos Gonzalez, Rafael Betancourt, Joe Beimel and Jason Giambi. A fairly good job done by the management.
