Rockies Playoff Ticket Thread

This thread is for discussing ticket situations for the playoffs. It is NOT for haggling online about ticket prices. Please use emails that are posted on user profiles to communicate specifics.

Instead, use it as a jumping off point to let your fellow Rowbots know if you have extra tickets to the NLDS (and hopefully beyond) and as a forum where we can get as many PR denizens to the games as humanly possible (the more intelligent, hardcore fans present in the NLDS, the better).

You can even use it to announce where your tickets are located to set up a pregame meeting place for Rowbots should that be desired. Go crazy people.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

the Code

allows you to buy up to 4 tickets, for all 3 POSSIBLE games. YOU must buy all 3 games. You can’t pick and choose a game.

I may

Do we know for sure what days the home games would be as wild card? I can’t go to any Mon-Thu games.

I would be willing to purchase all 3 games and eat the fees

But I can’t go to the Sunday game, maybe we could work out an arrangement?

Awesome

Thank you both. Roberbola, I prefer the pavillion seats, but it’s on your dime, so I’ll take whatever you get. Hit the email in my profile and we can settle up.

But from experience with refunded concert tickets in the past, fees are not refundable. I don’t know how fair it is, but considering the fact that the costs of this round aren’t astronomical, I don’t mind paying that little bit more. I’ll just pass it on to my friends we take to the game

Sort of off topic, but not really...

I’m coming out for the playoff games (assuming the Rox make it). In addition to attending those, I’m also attending the Utah/CSU game as well as the Patriots/Broncos game (which I’m not thrilled about, but I’m making the trip with a HUGE Pats fan). While I already have tix to the college football game, I am in dire need of cheap tix to the Broncs game (not to mention NLDS tickets, but that’s another story).

Any of you Coloradoans know of anywhere I can get two tickets for the Broncos game for about $100 total? Probably wishful thinking, but I figured I’d try.

by Bryan Kilpatrick on Sep 24, 2009 12:58 PM MDT up reply actions

You could try the Broncos ticket exchange

That’s where season ticket holders put up availability on their seats if they’re not going to make the game. The Broncos take them and make them available for face value, so no scalpers taking all your money and jacking up the price. And the season ticket holder gets the money credited towards their account. It’s a pretty sweet system actually.

Hope you can find some good seats!

Gladly sharing a name with Dexter Fowler!

by ShadowPenguin on Sep 24, 2009 12:58 PM MDT up reply actions

Oh, check that

Apparently they CAN be resold for higher than face value. But it’s still a good way to get access to season ticket areas that may not be normally available at the box office.

After receiving first the dreaded “Thank me for my patience” message and then “Invalid Code” messages that turned out to be due to operator error, we got tickets! My boss gave me tix to one game, and I don’t think I can justify the time from my wife to be at both tames, so I think I’ll have a password avaialble if anyone needs it.

I can’t imagine there will be too many awesome seats left, but send me e-mail if you want the password. I’ll decide in the next couple hours for sure whether or not I’m using it.

Third round?

I like this actually. Seems like they’re selling most of the tickets to the people who registered before opening it up to scalpers.

Gladly sharing a name with Dexter Fowler!

by ShadowPenguin on Sep 28, 2009 11:29 AM MDT up reply actions

Very true. At any rate, I'm willing to give my code up

I have no idea what seats would be available, but since I’m already in section 145 for the second home game, and really shouldn’t try to go to both, I’ll give up the code for this round to any Rowbot who still needs it to get to games they otherwise won’t have tix for. I’m not willing to give it to someone who just wants to get the tix to resell.

Who knows, maybe it’s pay it forward for the NLCS ;-)

Got my email that I can purchase tickets tomorrow, or at least that I have the opportunity. I know what I’ll be doing at 9:00 a.m.

Last round was shut out initially, then my girlfriend got the second-chance password. What’s the actual row number on the Purple Row? I’m guessing that I’m close for the Division Series, but hope to do better tomorrow.

What happens if multiple people try to use the same ticket?

With the email delivery option it’s possible that someone could print multiple copies of the same ticket.

Whether by honest error or evil intent, it’s possible that two or even more people could show up at the gate with the same ticket.

In practical terms, that probably means if we’re buying a ticket from someone we don’t know, we’d probably want it to be the traditional ticket, not the print-at-home version.

Somewhat related to the original question, isn’t there a setting on Adobe that allows a document to be printed just once? Even if there is, I guess it probably wouldn’t help, since color scanners, printers and copiers are so readily available.

I’m guessing that the scanners at the gate would reveal someone had already used a ticket when a person tries to gain entry with a duplicate, but it seems like the potential is there for a real mess.

I know some of the Rox’ materials stress the importance of buying only through the Rockies or their partners, i.e., Stub Hub. In some ways that sounds almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy, though.

In theory, I’ve got tix for both NLDS games via the 4th round ticket sales. My extended family will probably claim the extras but if I have any I’ll certainly post here…

oh, and thank you Rockies

for making the first round of playoff tickets purchasing pretty much pain free. I went to the login page at 8:58 am, got the sign in form at 9:00 am and had tix by 9:05 am!

After the WS fiasco, I was expecting to have to wait some interminable amount of time and then be told there wern’t any tix left — which would have made me a sad panda indeed.

(I did manage to get NLCS tix in 2007 because I believed and bought them way early :)

Did anybody else get a code for the family section NLDS sale today?

Got a code, sale started at 1. By the time it accepted one of my answers to the stupid “what letters and numbers are these that you can’t read?” security tag all I’ve been able to get is “unable to find tickets at this price level”. Appears they were sold out by 1:05 or so. (Which is unsurprising since the sale is apparently for one section, but disappointing nonetheless…)

Holy Crap

I posted a few days ago that I probably would not get to go to any playoff games but that was OK because I did not buy season tickets or a ticket package. Then a couple of days ago my wife came up with TWO TICKETS TO SATURDAYS GAME….holy crap…. I am going with my mother-in-law, but if you knew my mother-in-law you would know that going to a baseball game with her is cool. She is as crazy as the rest of us, and usually buys me at least a beer or two!!! Go ROX!!!!!

What if the hokey pokey is what it is all about after all????

by FlyAway on Oct 5, 2009 8:27 AM MDT reply actions

Possibly looking for ONE ticket to Saturday's game, can trade ONE ticket to Sunday's game

I have two tix to Sunday’s game (Section 145, Row 22), and the person who was going to go with me can’t go now.

But I have no tickets to Saturday’s game.

What I’d really like to do is trade one of my tickets to Sunday’s game for a ticket to Saturday’s game. The only downside I can see is, that person would have to put up with sitting next to me on Sunday.

Thanks to muzia02 I have a code

So…my current plan is to buy two strips to all three games. But I need to know before I purchase, is there anyone here who needs LCS tix who would commit to buying one or two strips for all three games at face value + service charges?

I can buy up up to four, and I want to use two for myself, but don’t want to leave a Rowbot out. But I also can’t afford to eat the cost if someone changes their mind.

Cheers

Okay, I need to put a hold on this....

…my boss, who gave me my Game 2 NLDS tix, wants me to get two strips for him, which I’m glad to do.

If he ultimately can’t attend one of the games, I’ll have tix available.

“You have been selected to participate in the final round of the Colorado Rockies 2009 NLDS first-come, first-served, online only purchase opportunity which starts on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. MT and ends at 8 p.m. MT on Thursday, October 8, 2009 or when the inventory is exhausted, whichever comes first. "

I’ve seen a few comments here about email addresses not being in someone’s profile. If you’re nervous about including that because of spammers or stalkers, mine’s been there for two years now, and I’ve not received any unwanted mail. Just thinking this would resolve some communication issues.

Four Tickets Available for Saturday, Sec. 329 Row 20

Cost is $32.00 each, can sell all four, or possibly sets of two.

Some of the baseball scholars here said that Row 20 is literally, “the PUrple Row,” and you can still get ’em at face value.

Post here or try email to the address on my profile. I’m in Colorado Springs, so could get you the tickets here prior to mid-afternoon Saturday. Another possibility is outside the gates shortly before game time. If you have questions or need to talk I’ll provide a phone number.

Got the momentum going back in the right direction today; should continue Saturday.
