Spilly I love you man. You are a  class act, a great person and I love your workethic and passion for the game. So you had a bad year. Don't press or stress it. Without trying to mess up your fundementals; this is who I see you as at the plate. You should hit more like Derek Jeter. Hit the other way. Use the center of the field. I want to see your walks and strikeouts about even. Think more about on base percentage. That's your game.  Stop worrying so much about the outside strike.
