Congrats, Randy Johnson - Now get the hell out of the NL West
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Randy Johnson on a great career. It was a lot of fun to watch a left handed power pitcher with two back surgeries pitch as well as he did for as long as he did.
For his career he went 303-162 with a 3.69 ERA and 4875 strikeouts in 4135.1 innings. There can be very little debate as to his hall of fame candidacy. The question is who does he go in with? I doubt the Expos, Giants, Astros or the Yankees, but the Mariners (10 years) and the Diamondbacks (8 yeasrs) seem like good choices.
Thanks for letting me watch you and thanks for finally leaving our division.
And a picture to finish it off:

Why Arizona?
IS that because he won a WS with them?
the time between the season ending and spring training makes me feel dead inside.
And threw a perfect game

I remember seeing the Letterman top-10 list after that
one of them was “Yankees sign him to a 7-year 150M contract”
and then the Yankees signed him
- was “Now maybe people will finally forget about that bird incident”

I don't think there's any contest
When you think Randy Johnson, you think Arizona

Disagree
I think of Seattle. I realize that he posted ridiculous numbers in AZ, but I think of him as a Mariner first.

I don't know man
The Peta people were made when the Pads called the bee kepper to get rid of the bees in that game against Houston last year. They are really nuts.

I think Sports Science once did an episode to determine the likelihood
of a pitcher hitting a bird. The result was mathematically impossible.

Arizona
I don’t think there’s any doubt about it. He went to the D’Backs as a free agent twice, won 4 (consecutive) Cy Young’s there, got his only WS there, had the best years of his career there, and signed a deal in his last year to work for them in some capacity in his first year of retirement.
In short, he’s a Diamondback.
"I intend to kick your ass today." - Denver Broncos legend Tom Jackson
Free agent once.
We traded for him the 2nd time.
"The existence of flamethrowers is proof that someone, somewhere, said to himself, 'I want to set those people over there on fire, but I don't feel like walking over there to do it.'"
I just gotta say
As much as I hated seeing the Rockies face him, I’m sad to see RJ retire. He and Greg Maddux are the best pitchers I’ve ever watched play, with Roger Clemens not far behind.
In my lifetime, I have only intentionally bought tickets to one game to see an opposing player. That was Randy Johnson in 2001. I’d probably do it for Roy Halladay, but that’s more of a sentimental thing, though he’s also damn good. Johnson was just that unbelievable to watch.

I did that with Clemens in 2006

As much (I thought) I respected him as a player
He was a jerk-wad, and he’s creepy to boot. Nope. Good riddance.
Don't hate the player, hate the game, except all Yankees players.
Are yo reffering to the camera incident in NY

I think
they’re referring to Clemens, who had an affair with an underage country music singer. (While in his 40s)

How do you know that will be the matchup?

yeah, I meant the 2009 season
one of my favorite days of the year. Great pitching matchup, game winning Seth Smith homer, then a Flaming Lips show at Red Rocks that night.
Awesome.
ROCKEFELLER!!!
You should have gone to the game the next night.

but there wasn't an awesome concert to follow it up the next night

ROCKEFELLER!!!
When he signed with Arizona
two years ago I was at a ST game he was starting and bought tickets to sit right behind the plate just to watch him pitch from that angle.
