Craziest Draft Ever, contined
The second half of my draft in the Alphabet Soup League. If you didn't read Wednesday's article (linked within the current one) you'll definitely want to do that, or my strategies won't make sense to you.

That sounds like a fun league,
The challenge in putting a roster together under those circumstances would be daunting. Somewhat related, I’m working on a story right now that ’s constrained by having to start each word with the different letters of the alphabet in sequence, i.e:,
As better conditions develop, everyone feels good Helen is joining Kallista later. Maybe now our pleas, quietly recited, should turn up verified. What xystarches you’ll zip around by celebrating!
It’s very difficult to keep a somewhat coherent plot, particularly in sections where I’m using dialog. If you’re wondering, using Greek characters is helpful, as it makes a lot of X words somewhat more fitting, as, for instance, xystarches (ancient Greek military gymnastic trainers) don’t have a lot of uses outside of that context.
Yeah
It can get harrowing at the later stages, when you NEED a certain position. Unlike a normal draft, you can’t just grab the player – you have to wait for a letter to come your way. Certain position stack up at certain letters (M for catchers, for example), which can really cause problems.
If you’re looking for a platform for your story, I’d be interested in publishing it on The Casual Observer. It sounds cool.

What if every player had to define one division before the draft without knowing the other players' choices
and they could only use players from that division? I suppose a lot of national people would overly favor the AL and NL East, so tabbing the NL West could leave you with a strong team. Not sure how real-life trades would affect it. Maybe a Felipe Lopez would have stayed “NL West” in 2009.

Nice
I like that. I’ve heard of leagues that are restricted to a division, but in those cases, EVERYONE is restricted to players from those divisions.
Without doing much analysis, the NL Central might be a good choice, simply because there are 6 teams. That might not cancel out the relative weakness of the division, though.
